Travelling People / Re: Circus Look Ups

Hello Copeland.
My aunt (who was known by a number of names) worked with the Wallendas in 1934 and 1935 whilst they were with Bertram Mills circus. She was known as Winifred Innes Smith,Judith Innes Lloyd, Judith Innes Gordon and Judith Lloyd. She married Phillip Kries  on 21st October, 1934, in Oxford whilst the circus was in Oxford, and they were photographed riding one of the elephants in the circus parade. Phillip Kreis was one of the Wallenda artistes.
Have you got any further information re the Wallendas of that time? She and Phillip travelled to Germany and joined Circus Gleich, but she and Phillip divorced shortly afterwards. I would be grateful for anything that you could tell me.
Thank you.

Can anyone tell me who the artistes were who  made up The Flying Wallendas in the 1934, 1935 seasons with Bertram Mills  at Olympia or on tour? I am particularly interested in the English girl who was the girl on top. Thank you.

Midlothian / Re: tracing Innes family in Edinburgh, 1855

Reply to hume 24.
Thank you for your info. It adds more to my own info and sets me off again on the trail!

Hello to hume 24
Since my last reply to you re the Innes family in Edinburgh:
Your info re the 1871 Scot.Census is correct in all details except the name which is a misinterpretation
in the reading. On close examination of the Census Form, it can be seen that the name "Mores" is in fact, "Innes". Every thing else is exactly correct and the family is indeed  my Gt.Gt.Grandparents and  my Gt.Grandmother.
Many thanks for your help.

Midlothian / tracing Innes family in Edinburgh, 1855
« on: Saturday 01 December 07 15:42 GMT (UK)  »
Hello, I'm new to this site, so please bear with me. Thank you.
My Gt.Gt.Grandfather, William Innes, was stationed in Edinburgh Castle in 1855. The birth Cert. for his son, Thomas William Innes states that his father (William Innes) was a Staff Sergeant, C.E.A.Militia, and the Scottish Census for 1861 states that the family lived at 2, Forbes Street, Edinburgh,
and that he was now a Quarter Master Sergeant, Edinburgh Castle Artillery Melitia (sic). I would like to know what Regiment that he belonged to, and when and were he died.
I have got details of his wife, Bridget and their 2 children, 1 of whom was my Gt Grandmother.
If you can help me, I would be very grateful.Thank You.
