there is a train from Piccadilly Station Manchester to Glossop every half hour, the library is very near to Glossop station, and the staff are very helpful, cheers Kath

the local library does hold micro fiche records, but they don't do research. Derbyshire County Council Record Office also have copies and also do paid research. but without dates of the article I am not sure how this will be done. cheers and good luck Kath

I have been looking at notes of a Glossop Historian Robert Hamnett. He used to write articles in The Glossop Chronicle. he states that Shrewsbury St Chapel was opened on 24th October 1858. Included in the list of church trustees was Joshua Berry, shopkeeper, Edward Street Glossop. Edward Street is off Shrewsbury street. The newspaper you have is probably from the Glossop Chronicle, I hope this is of interest to you cheers Kath

I was born on Shrewsbury Street, the Chapel was called Shrewsbury Street Primitive Methodist, there is no graveyard. People were buried in the local Council graveyard on Cemetery Rd Glossop. Yes it is a large cemetery  cheers kath

My relations in America told me years ago that William was accidentally shot by a gamekeeper employed by the Duke of Norfok.I have looked at your recent postings and note that Rex is researching the shooting also, could you give me his info so we can share info

Hi Brett, Just found that you have added the photograph of my Grandfather Dominick Murphy by Charles Bradshaw to your Derbyshire Photographers profiles. I wonder if it is possible to ammend the notes attached to it, I may have sent you wrong info or misstyped it. Dominic and Sarah had six children not four, and also the church they married in was St Marys not St Mays. Keep up the good work chuck, cheers Kath Tarbatt
