Cornwall / Re: Margery Pett or Pitt St Germans or Liskeard??
« on: Monday 01 August 16 18:55 BST (UK)  »
Hi.

Thanks. These are the records I have. I am trying to find validity for the birth of a Margery Pett in 1633 in Liskeard if anyone can help on this. The one in 1702 is too late.

Cheers

Cornwall / Margery Pett or Pitt St Germans or Liskeard??
« on: Monday 01 August 16 10:53 BST (UK)  »
Hello all

I have my 8th Great Grandmother marrying Digory Swigg 20/1/1662 in Menheniot but who is she?? The marriage record calls her Margery Pett. I have unearthed a Margery Pitt baptised 14 March 1641 in St Germans whoever there is also a possibility of a Margery Pett being baptise in Liskeard around September 1633 but I cannot find any record of this online.

If anyone is going into the Cornwall Records Office I wonder if they could kindly see if there is a record in or around Liskeard of this Baptism.

Thanks

Cornwall Lookup Requests / Mary Snell burial in Quethiock 1786
« on: Friday 08 April 16 11:55 BST (UK)  »
Hello. I have a burial record for Mary Snell in Quethiock 7 April 1786. I believe her to have been the wife of a George Snell who was buried same place 29 April 1782. However, I am trying to pin down exactly who she is. I have 2 candidates. To help I wonder if anyone has any further information from the burial especially from the gravestone, eg. age or other birth record. Thanks

Devon / Re: Mary Codner Coffinswell Marriage

Hi Peter
Yes saw these but eliminated the first (she would be too young), and the last (too old and she was not Mary Ann). Leaves the middle to to pin down.
Thanks, Allan

Hi

There are 2 marriages for Mary Codner in Coffinswell

5 Dec 1782 to Jonas Barter
1 March 1792 to Thomas Crockwill

If anyone is going into the records office and can view the records I would appreciate anything which could help identify which Mary could be which, e.g. witness names. Thanks

Devon Lookup Requests / Marriage Rowe/Dunkin in Bere Ferrers
« on: Monday 02 March 15 17:50 GMT (UK)  »
Hello
If anyone happens to be going into the records office could I ask if they could look up the marriage of Matthias Rowe and Sarah Dunkin/Duncan 18 Feb 1785. In particular I am searching for anything that will confirm the spelling of Sarah's surname and her family perhaps from witnesses. I suspect they do not come from Bere Ferrers. Thanks for any help.

Cornwall / Re: Sarah Dunkin from Camelford

OK. I have Sarah Dunkin marrying in Bere Ferrers (just over into Devon) but she cannot be found anywhere there or nereby prior to this. I have a cousin who has researched her husbands (Matthias Rowe) family in huge depth but cannot find her. We do know she was born about 1763.

I felt the name was Cornish so started looking around the online records for Cornish parishes and eventually came across a Sarah Dunkin baptised in Camborne April 1763. Right year, right name. However I cannot see what happened to her. If she married or died then she would be eliminated. If not then ......................

Cornwall / Sarah Dunkin from Camelford
« on: Thursday 27 November 14 14:47 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

I wonder if someone could help me with a look up as I do not live in Cornwall. I am trying to see if Sarah Dunkin is an ancestor. I have her born in Camelford to William, baptised 24 April 1763. Her mother may be Dorothy Julyan and she possibly has siblings Elizabeth, Dorothy, George and Ann. What I don't know is what happened to her. I can find no online record of marriage or death in Camborne. Can anyone help please?

Many thanks

Devon Lookup Requests / Re: Barn(e)s baptism in Busckfastleigh look up

Hi. I have him 1841 in Ugborough age given as 20, married 1843 when he was living in Buckfastleigh and dead 1845 !!! He did however leave a daughter Elizabeth from whom I am ultimately descended. From his marriage I know his father (John, Woolcomber) and witness Celia (now confirmed as his sister). They all seem to be from Buckfastleigh so I am assuming he is also. It would be the final piece of family confirmation. Then I can start to go back in time. Regs, Allan
