The Common Room / Re: Will - 25 pages long. Is this possible?
« on: Friday 08 October 10 10:53 BST (UK)  »
I have a tip for making the writing clearer.
Don't ask me why it works but it does.
If you have a blue coloured plastic see through folder, place it over the writing , it becomes a little clearer.
I discovered this in the summer while trying to read one of mine and accidently dropped in underneath my blue glassed garden table and saw that the words were alot clearer so I tried the folder and it does the same.

Hope this helps

US Lookup Requests / Re: Death certs and wills

William Arrowsmith did die in USA and Elsie did outlive him, we think she went on the marry again and her new surname was Ward. She came over to UK a few times to visit us. Its a shame the family lost touch at some point, I would love to get back in touch again... who knows

Thankyou,
Not sure why the SSNumbers were edited out as they are freely viewable on rootsweb Death index pages. They seem to think the info is copyright free??????

« on: Tuesday 12 January 10 11:07 GMT (UK)  »
How would I get a copy of death certificates and any wills of my family who left England for California in the 1920's. Thay started off in Detroit, Michigan and ended in California.

1. John Boot b. 13 Oct 1895 Warwickshire UK died March 1979 , his
last    residence was 92649 Huntington Beach, Orange County LA

2. Wife of John- Annie Louisa Boot nee Eadon b. 1897 Warwickshire, UK
died 15 Jan 1956 Los Angeles

They only other info I have on them is what is on the 1930 Michigan Census. They had a daughter  (*) b 1927 in Michigan. I cannot locate any other children as yet.

3. Johns Sister- Elsie Arrowsmith b. 1892/3 Warwickshire Uk I think she remarried a Mr Ward and she died Nov 1982 in 90815 Long Beach Los Angeles CA

Many thanks for anyone who can point me in the right direction.

My Hughes family are from Llanrhydlad, Do you know if Williams parents were Hugh Hughes and Catherine (nee Salisbury)?
If so then were are connected via Williams sister Anne Hughes who married Hugh Boardman.

Derbyshire / Death/Burial lookup please
« on: Friday 31 July 09 09:14 BST (UK)  »
I am in desperate need of a Death/Burial lookup.

Michael BOOT born abt. 1645, Wilne Derbyshire

His wife is Ellen JAMES and they were married on 1 Nov 1671, Church Wilne.

Children :
Michael c.21 Jul 1672, Wilne
Joseph c.9 May 1674, Wilne
Gervas c.10 Jan 1676, Wilne
Edward c.20 Nov 1679, Wilne        d.19 Nov 1681

I am hoping that Michael BOOT b.1645 died and was buried at Wilne too (as the family seem to have lived there for many years).
I would only be able to guess a year around 1715ish, in hopes that he may of had a good long life to 70 years but he may have died younger or older. sorry for a very vague year)
I would greatly appreciate any info.

Many thanks, Dizziebee

Yn llygredd y dyfnfedd Du
Hyd awr fawr yr adferu

(I tried an online translator but it could not find it and said ERROR!)

John Salisbury b abt. 1761, LLanfairynghornwy, ANG
married
Grace ?????? b abt 1761, LLanfairynghornwy, ANG

was hoping they might have got married in the same Parish they said they were born in possibly sometime between 1779 and 1790 (eldest child found to date was born 1790)

Their children Robert, William, John, Owen, Catherine and Winnifred were all born in LLanfairynghornwy, ANG
Robert in 1790 and Winnifred in 1804.

If anyone has any other info ie John Salisbury's line, I would be interested too.
