Others can be found in the Facebook Saveall Ancestry. I can pass you on to them if you would like to drop me an email

New Zealand Completed Requests / Re: Looking for Charles Montrose
« on: Tuesday 22 January 08 06:24 GMT (UK)  »
Oh Just did a search on the NSW BDM site for death of surname * and father charles otto and found these two...

23063/1945      YATES      VICTORIA HOBSON      CHARLES OTTO      MATILDA      BALMAIN

17283/1948    HILL    ALICE MATILDA DANKS    CHARLES OTTO    MATILDA    DRUMMOYNE

when spelt Otho

20450/1961      MARTIN      MABEL ANNIE M      CHARLES OTHO      GERTRUDE LUCRETIA      PENRITH

Hope this helps piece the tree together for you. When you get past the index cut off dates, it is worth checking the Ryerson Index, a volunteer project indexing death and funeral notices.

Also worth checking the National Archives of Australia for people who served in the wars - often give info you cant find elsewhere...

http://www.naa.gov.au/collection/recordsearch.aspx

Just press search now.

We are starting to get off topic - seeing is this isnt NZ any more - so if you want to get in touch further you can email me at

Siblings of Charles O MONTROSE....

Lucky for you is seems that the family came to Sydney - possibly along with Matilda nee DANKS.

If you check the death indexes for NSW you can see many child of Charles O.

http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/familyHistory/search.htm

You can by transcriptions of NSW certificates (all the same info - sometimes more for about 1/2 the price of a certified copy) - I use

www.transcriptions.com.au

I also wonder if this is Matilda's death cert - worth ordering to check as NSW one give names and ages of living children - if the informant knew this info.

125/1932      CLAUSON      MATILDA      FREDERICK W      ANN      SYDNEY

I suspect the brother in law might be connected to Charles's wife as - I cant find a marriage of a HILL and MONTROSE in either NZ nor NSW. But maybe you will have more luck

All the best
Michelle
