Re Backworth Collieries.

I was born in Backworth. My family lived and worked in and around the  village for 4 generations. I have a wealth of information about the area, It depends on what you would like to know!

Regards

Bill

Thanks for reply re above.  Require info of parents of George McCoy (d.o.b.1819) who married Annie York(e) (d.o.b.1819) in 1838, possibly at Gortin, Tyrone.

George & Annie had daughter Jane (d.o.b.1839) and son Thomas (d.o.b.1848) They were then living at Dunhunrover.  Is this a house or village?
Thomas married Isabella Hopper on 15.02.1872 at the Scots Church, Gortin.  They emigrated to England about 1873.  They were my great grandparents so have more details of them already.

Isabella Hopper's father was Samuel, mother's name unknown.  Would like any details this couple.

Regards

Pam
