Family History Beginners Board / Re: Father of Charles Reynolds 1807 - 1875

Thank you to all three of you for your help. Yes, the first wife of Charles, Susannah, died in 1843, and in 1845 Charles remarried, to Jane Charlton,1816 - 1853. The problem is there were two Jonathan Reynolds from Snaith with different dob and wives. I followed the incorrect Jonathan so had to delete the info I had gleaned and start again from Charles 1807. I have actually visited the house where Charles lived in Hunmanby. I would really appreciate it if you could send me newspaper details. Thank you.

Hello, once again I'm asking if anyone can kindly help me find out details about Frederick Field dob 1867, who died in the Boer War. His parents were Frederick Field dob 1843 and Annie Reynolds dob 1840.
I know that he was in the Honourary Artillery Corps (HAC No 1 Coy) as I have some silver fish servers and cutlery which were won by 'Private Frederick Field 1882'. This makes him to be 15 years old at the time? However, I have contacted the HAC and no record can be found of him. Any ideas out there please?

Thanks very much for your speedy response - I will look into that and possibly send for the marriage cert, although it always involves spending money, doesn't it? !

I would be grateful for any help!
Charles Reynolds was born in Snaith, Hunmanby in 1807. He married Susannah Stephenson in 1831 and when a widower he married Jane. I know details of his children but I just cannot find any details about Charles' parents or his siblings and I have tried! :(

Thank you very much for both replies. Yes, it is all about spending money :-(. I had been looking for details of Elizabeth Brown and I sent for a birth certificate for one of her sons, Frank, but by the time the cert arrived, I had already discovered that she was actually Mary Elizabeth Brown
Yes, she was born in Nottinghamshire. In fact, most of the records for her and Charles Wiiliam seem to be Southwell, Nottinghamshire. Thanks for your interest.
Incidentally, it seems I am not a newcomer, as I was on this site in 2007 but I'd forgotten all my sign-in details so I started again but my old posts appeared!

I'm a newcomer so please be patient with me :-) I'm trying to find records for my Grandmother- Mary Elizabeth Weaver, nee Brown. I have her date of marriage as Sept 1905 at Southwell, Nottinghamshire. Her husband was Charles William Weaver, a railway drayman, and this was his 2nd marriage. They lived in Sheffield and Mary had 5 sons plus a stepson, Evelyn William, from Charles Williams's first marriage. I know that Mary Elizabeth (she was known as Elizabeth), died approx 1948, as she lived with my parents and I in Sheffield at the time, and I remember I was approx 9 years old. I can't find any death nor birth records. I know she had several siblings, Olive, Amy, Edith, George, Ethel, Jack, Evelyn and Lois.
