Having known for some years that I was decended from Jabez Blessed I watched this episode with both interest and trepidation. I thought Brian (we part company 'below' Jabez) was heart warming the way he reacted.  The programme filed in a few gaps in my knowledge but fascinating to be at the places that Jabez and Barnabas had lived.  It brought the ancestry journey so much alive!

I know a Wm Shields married a Margaret Ellis 15/1/1759 but I am trying to verify his ancestors.  Was he the son of a Wm and Milcah Parker (one of his daughters was a Milcah!)?  I know about the Shields born in Humbleton in 1732 but 'put off' by so many Humbleton Shields apparently dying in the 1730's so soon after birth including a 'William'.  In short am I matching up the correct Wm Shields?

Bethulia Chalmers was my wife's Gt Gt Grandmother descended via the Adams family. As you posted some time back there appears to have been 5 children and the William Peter who married Emma was one of them.

I would be delighted to send you a copy of the marriage certificate but am struggling to find how to do this.  If you can either explain or send me an email address by the private message system I will send a scanned copy of Bethulia's marriage in Frindsbury in April 1850 to James William Adams.

This conversation is 4 years old but I have a copy of the marriage certificate of one of the daughters and the father's name is stated as William Peter Chalmers - may help!
