Or wait until Ancestry release the digital images together with new transcriptions this year.

FindMyPast Fridays have released some new Suffolk records, plus some Suffolk newspapers and monumental inscriptions.

The majority being licenced transcriptions by Suffolk Family History Society. See https://wwweogncom.wildapricot.org/page-18080/13491841

BradyCMH - your assumptions are completely unfounded.

Access to high quality colour digital images of the original source images of Suffolk parish registers, archdeacons transcripts, bishops transcripts, wills etc will be an absolute gamechanger. Together with new indexed transcriptions linked to the images. All within the excellent value for money Ancestry subscription.

What we have so far are only transcriptions, or poor quality monochome film/fiche. FamilySearch have very little available for Suffolk. Findmypast have the best online Suffolk content at the moment.

In the latest Lost Cousins newsletter Peter Calver reports that unfortunately there has been a slight delay in the indexing process, and it’s likely to be several more months before Ancestry finally launch their new Suffolk Parish Registers collection.

The Common Room / Re: Ancestry Subscription Discount
« on: Sunday 12 January 25 20:59 GMT (UK)  »
My Ancestry ProTools subscription is £4.99/month so I don't want to lose that decent price.

As normal I have cancelled the autorenewal of my Ancestry 12 months world subscription because I will use the £89.99 link to renew the day after expiration. But ...

Quote from https://support.ancestry.com/s/article/Ancestry-Pro-Tools-Membership

"What happens if I cancel my Ancestry family history membership?
Ancestry Pro Tools requires an active Ancestry family history membership. If your Ancestry family history membership expires, your Pro Tools membership will automatically be canceled at the end of its current paid period."

As my normal method means that I will not have an  Ancestry subscription for a few hours until I use the discount link, will that impact my £4.99/month ProTools subscription? In other words am I in danger of losing that low £4.99/month?

Does anyone have actual experience of this dilemma please?

Brady - Ancestry are scanning and digitising the actual original Suffolk parish registers of baptisms marriages and burials, and the archdeacons transcriptions and bishops transcripts too. Those high quality images will be available in colour on Ancestry in 2025 along with their own transcriptions.

Next Ancestry will do the same for Suffolk wills held at Suffolk Archives. Already available are large quantities of digital images of some Suffolk wills such as those proved in the PCC on Ancestry and The National Archives, and those proved at Norwich on FamilySearch. Some digital Suffolk wills are available on the Suffolk Archives website but they are £6 each which in most cases is not affordable.

Yes, all of the above will compliment the SFHS transcriptions. Nothing can beat viewing the high quality original pages of these source records.

Ancestry are requesting suggestions for which Suffolk records they should digitise next.

Most of my Suffolk research has also been on hold, for decades, waiting for these gamechanging sources.

Exciting times ahead!

Actually Ancestry have for years used a highly professional transcription company in India whose teams have lots of experience in transcribing English parish registers including early and hard to decipher records. That together with Ancestry's advanced use of AI, I am expecting the transcriptions and indexing to be complete much earlier than you expect.

"I was recently advised during a visit to Bury RO that the registers were 80% filmed which is ahead of expectation but the transcriptions still have to be done. Ancestry are on target, target being "early next year"."
