Hi Alan

Just to add to the information already provided Edward and Sarah Jane Horsley were the witnesses at the marriage of Sarah's widowed sister-in-law Mary Ann Chapman (nee West) when she married my Great Great Grandfather, Elijah Jones, at St Mary's, Kettering on 1 August 1904

Northamptonshire Lookup Requests / Re: Martha Jane Groom or Harbour

Thank you very much for all that information.  Gives me a bit more to go on.  Sadly Christopher Harbour only seems to appear at his baptism and his death and on no census in between!!

Northamptonshire Lookup Requests / Martha Jane Groom or Harbour
« on: Friday 20 July 12 18:14 BST (UK)  »
An ancester of mine - Hannah Hodson married Isaac Groom in 1841 - together they have at least four children in various places in England between then and his death in 1863.  After his death Hannah lives with and possibly married a William Rush.  The children appear to use both Groom and Rush surnames.
However, when daughter Martha Jane (bn 1857) married John Hoare in 1882 (Northampton) the registered surname is Harbour.
Familysearch has a Martha Jane Harbour baptised in Northampton, daughter of Christopher and Hannah Harbour in the 1880's (could be an adult one) and a Christopher and Hannah Harbour die in Northampton in 1887 and 1881.
Census have two Groom/Rush sons lodging with their sister, Martha Hoare so I think it is all one family but why the Harbour name.
Could someone please look up the 1882 marriage and see if any witnesses are mentioned?
Many thanks
Amanda

Hi Zoe

If you go to www.familyhistorynorthampton.co.uk there is a Northampton Town late victorian street map.  Bristol Street was on the far left-hand side between Chalk Lane and Bath Street.  I think lots of that area was redeveloped in the 60's and 70's as flats and council houses.

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Bledington PRs Look Up Please
« on: Wednesday 25 April 12 20:04 BST (UK)  »
If anyone has access to the Bledington Parish Records could you please look up any mention of the  Edginton family from the 1780's to early 1800's please.  I'm hoping for Richard and Thomas Edginton possibly the sons of William and Sarah.

Thank you in advance.

Amanda
