Enjoy family time Viktoria and as you say, have to make the most of it being irregular get-togethers and not let irritations get in way ... easier said than done of course and you know you'd like to give as good as you get  ;) ... you are as you are and looking fine in your new 'do'  :)

A good day all ways hopefully for the fete too LM.

Catching up with computer stuff unusually for a Saturday morning before having to be out and about again later. An extra bit of running around yesterday with an unfortunate product issue. Having purchased new bed, very happy with, decided on some new bedding and selected a nice comforter set = no duvet  to grapple with and design info for super king or king size beds. Staff at store made a point of mentioning that no refunds or returns on bedding items and policy was written on docket and happy with that and choice and a great sale price. Also picked up a new set of good quality sheets while store had discounts, very aware of sizing for fitted, all carefully compared with what was written on packaging and *super king size dimensions. Followed instruction to wash sheets before use, didn't I  ::) and then when hung on line saw this tag that said king and on checking dimensions on another tag in tiny writing, top and bottom sheets were indeed king not super king and that last corner would not go over mattress!! ... Anyway, calm approach but all set to be assertive if need be at the nearest branch of store, not the one I purchased at further afield .... and all very good and apologetic, never happened before to their knowledge and gave me a replacement after opening new packaging to check  :) They would let their consumer services know in case of further issues and wrote off the one I first bought, very pleasant and also customer satisfaction  :)
I do normally check tags and such, especially on a hanger but size label on actual sheets I hadn't read and obviously wrongly packaged.

Showers about but brief between sunshine, a couple of heavier ones last couple of days, mild for time of year but think a wee drop in temps in offing over next few days, noticing the day time light increasing too though  8) Have a good weekend all ...

Home again is good KG, be well ... we've had a very nice week away but always good to be back. I would usually say back in own bed but this time our new bed was delivered the next day, happily that is AOK  :) Not so easy moving that superking size mattress out of the room in time for new delivery but I managed with a wee bit of assistance from himself  :P ... it's his arthritic joints that make some things rather problematic these days. The 2 delivery guys were great, prompt, set it all up and took all packaging away 15 minutes tops and we would have struggled with it heaps longer.

52 years for us btw, met June 69, wed Jan 73  :)

Just read your account of care home visit end of last week Viktoria, well done you thinking of your little friend and with a lovely gift too. The hearing aid battery issue is probably all too common unfortunately, it became our first check after realising when visiting husband's late aunt in care regularly that her aids were rarely working!!

End of another week nearing midnight Sunday for us, cheers all for the rest of yours  :)

I don't think I have ever weighed myself with the washing to determine the weight of a load  :) just did more loads with family and the cycles weren't so long as the more modern machines. Just the two of us now mostly and easy enough. I have had an unbalanced load, probably more so with one heavy item though but my machine recalibrates well with a little extra time and I do a separate towel wash without too many issues ... or tissues, which were my nuisance often, myself to blame for that with tucking them up a sleeve!

Impulsively purchased a new bed at the weekend, now have to get other one taken away and store it until then, delivery of new one end of next week but we'll be away in the meantime. Another super king size but doesn't have the one massive mattress on the 2 bases but 2 separate ones that zip to one, seemed a practical option for moving it about  :)

Lovely days here this week for washing or gadding about  8) ...

Duvet covers can certainly be a battle at times, I manage but iron doesn't make appearance  :) Still have a bedspread that was a wedding present, a bit too small for king and super-king size beds we've had for some years although I haven't pulled it out of storage to see how it looks!

Lovely time with grandchildren staying last week and they're back home now for the new school term.
Also arrival of great-great-nephew at the weekend, a little tardy in his arrival and then distressed and needed caesarean birth and oxygen and transfer to bigger hospital but mum and baby doing well and happy. If he had arrived the day before, all three of my sisters would have had grandchildren/great grandchildren born on the same date/month but apparently he preferred to coincide with a relative on his great grandfathers side  :D

Lovely morning tea gathering yesterday to celebrate a 99 year old local, she's doing and looking very well and lives with her daughter but does have occasional TIA episodes and sometimes says she wants to join her late husband.

Better attend to dinner as it'll be late for my husband  :P A roast in oven, so pretty straight forward, just some greens now to put on including a beautiful big head of fresh brocolli  :)

Have a good week all ...

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Re: Can anyone restore this photo
« on: Wednesday 16 July 25 06:04 BST (UK)  »
This isn’t really a comment about the new version, it applies to the original as well. Is that supposed to be a horseshoe that has been thrown? I don’t know when the photo was taken but surely shutter speeds at that time would not have been capable of freezing the horseshoe like that? Is this perhaps some sort of fake, like the Cottingley Fairies?
To my eye it appears the man may be holding a handle or a bunched knot with strings to the horseshoe but with unclear image not sure about that  :-\  and the 'strings' and creases on jacket merge together. In the repaired image that hand looks double clenched with extra fingers ... again just as it is to my eye

Totally agree with your perspective Peter and you're a great asset to the board with your careful contributions.

I have been very grateful for any work done on my photos in the past, mainly colouring as it was beyond me, can manage myself to improve on some blemishes of the few old photos I have. Also have attempted a payback here by having a go on one or two damaged pics, appreciate how much time others have given to restores as it takes me ages and not good for my jaw as I tend to clench teeth!!

Agree with you too Boo, have saved on file all versions I received with thanks ... and I haven't voted.

Cheers all for each of your skills

Wow!
Seems quite a few open doors on line for these heartless scammers about to be so invasive, bad enough to be so wary of being robbed on the street or being burgled and this must be such an eye opener to see how quickly they can zone in on a loophole.
It was for me anyway, haven't seen article in our papers or similar stories, just aware of those emails suggesting one has come in to a lot of money and all you have to do is send whatever! Hopefully a few doors closed to them at least for this lot.

I think we're all pleased you are still making some pace and here with us Viktoria, and hopefully not too long to dwell on when appointment might be. Steady on with the vertigo, quite unsettling and many suffer long term or have to wait out an episode. I just have the temporal positional type which thankfully mostly fleeting episodes and without nausea and can have it for a while and then disappears until the next time.

Nice to be looking forward to a family wedding, pleased to hear your family one went well too Gillg.

A lovely day and another week of school holidsys, have been expecting daughter grandchildren arriving this morning but they will be here soon after lunch.

Have a good new week all ... hope the croquet went well KG
