Our longest day yesterday and another week so quickly upon us!

A couple of get-togethers with family members well spent already, the production was so was so well done and enjoyable with our family of 5 in the north participating on stage, the little ones held out so well over the 4 shows and all the long rehearsals.

They'll be joining us for a few days at home here Christmas afternoon and then all out to rest of family for Boxing Day together, traditional meals together at the table. Fingers crossed for good outdoor days for the many who choose bbq or picnic family time at the beach or parks in preference.

Have a happy and safe Christmas however you celebrate and wherever you are ...

Good to read there has been some contact with KG and that some are on target with the festive preps, not so good re the seasonal ails and painful mobility issues with hopefully some reprieve  * relief asap.
I've become rather familiar with our drs clinic this past week and perhaps I'm also becoming more recognisable to our doctor as he'd only seen me the once prior for an introductory appointment. He's just popping into the nurses station to check each visit that all is OK and he removed sutures in ankle/heel wound yesterday and another look tomorrow. All visits ACC covered ( as accident ) so doesn't hurt the pocket and thankfully it has been comfortable for getting out and about with backless shoes ... just waiting to be able to immerse foot in the water again  :)

We have tickets for the matinee session of a Christmas production up north on Saturday, shows start Thursday night this week and started to sell out early. Our 3 year old granddaughter is the youngest cast member but also has her 2 older sisters and parents on stage as well and there have been rehearsals for a few months now, daughter is understudy for about 5 parts so hopefully all will be well!  Their previous shows have been very well performed and they've enjoyed participation under the direction of the couple who bring them together so well.

* I was rushing a bit to get dinner prep done .. some ailments do seem a bit punishing! ... liked your use of weekly words Viktoria  ;)

Thanks Viktoria, checks with surgery Wednesday and today and it's looking good, hopefully final check Monday.

A quiet communication week here, no doubt with seasonal tasks to be taken care of  :)

Saturday is 60th birthday of another niece ... ages one! Group accommodation booked, so should be a nice family weekend together. Remembering also my late brother as it's his 20th anniversary as well and had that sad news just after niece's happy 40th get-together. She and her older sister were flower girls at our wedding  :)

Cheers for everyone for another end of week and that plans for the festive 'stuff' are all coming together ...

3 cheers for all you volunteers generous of your time and efforts, always a relief when all the finalising is done and dusted ... until the next time!

Slightly slower pace for me for a couple of days, nursing a little injury requiring stitches, in good hands at our surgery and dealt with quickly as a 'drop in' patient, an appointment to check wound and dressing tomorrow with doctor who did the sewing up. My own doctor was there but they explained if he saw me between bookings it would make following bookings unacceptably late and I was fine with that, didn't know the other one but all good and he could visit me between his booked patients. Couldn't ask for better service than that and close to home as well. Didn't need a tetanus injection, had one 3 years ago when a neighbourhood cat bit me but having not had one prior since advice in 1978 when pregnant and having a nasty broken glass cut to hand but really swollen arm after jab at time was a worry more than the clean cut!

Happy week all ....

A ps re the matchbox toys, it's big boys toys here with husband a collector and trader as hobby, matchbox and hotwheels along with all the other makes and ranges in his collection of mostly fire engines ... he did earlier years do some scratchbuilding and model kits but has sold a lot now of undone ones, restricted room for display once we moved too ....

Yes KG very conspicuous by his absence! I noted here at the end of October he hadn't been on line since he had mentioned in late September that his surgery was scheduled early October and thought that perhaps he had gone to stay with one of his girls afterwards. He'll have a full inbox from everyone understandably concerned, I didn't send a pm via RC as he wasn't about and also unsure if he has notifications turned on or not  :-\

Summery forecast, a twilight market later today up the main street between shops and beach and a gypsy fair setting up today for the weekend in the park opposite the end of our road.

Get-togethers to finish the year and festive greetings, few cards though and from me as well now too these days. A bit of festive baking planned and fairly organised with purchases and a filled hamper to deliver on the weekend.
A funeral to go to Saturday morning, the first lay teacher I had at the convent school who was still teaching there when our children attended and each taught by her with the school having nearly all lay teachers by then. She also had family at the school and then grandchildren, some method in her thinking when she sat me next to her older daughter in class as we had to same first name and she only had to say it the once if not paying attention or whatever  :D Her younger daughter played the organ at our wedding and she herself was in demand as an organist. A full life, on her own once widowed and moved into a close by retirement village and company of many friends.

Happy weekend all ...

Haven't played any of our Shadows music in a while, we kept a few old favourite LPs when we moved but had too many unplayed for years.

Lots of effort LM and Caroline for your funrasing and hopefully profitable, I usually go for a browse for anything local like that. We had a lovely 'handmade' market last weekend and I found something that I think is suitable for neice's 60th next weekend ... and as I like it myself that is another option  :P

Tend to avoid busy shopping times but Friday, which was 'Black Friday' for shopping but sales weeks before and also after, I suggested to husband that he try out the public transport to the city and beyond as in 2 years he'd not done that yet. We went local bus to the nearest main bus station, express bus to city, train to just south of city and a couple of hours there and return. It went well, lovely lunch and not too crowded shops, a couple of unintended but happy purchases for myself and granddaughters  :)

Nature is throwing us some noisy thunder and hail and big dollops of water this afternoon ...
... thankfully eased again ... easy dinner prep this evening, take two of last night's roast  :)
