Thank you all very much. The map was interesting, very large concentration on the east coast. My husband googled Swedish white pages and found several Lings which he got a kick out of.

Thank you all once again

Wow  :o :o ;D

Such beautiful work everyone. Thank you all so much. I must apologise for taking so long to thank you all but I have only managed to get back online after my computer crashed on the weekend but I am back and what a lovely surprise to see so many beautiful restores. I can't wait to show them to my friends. You are all so clever. Lovely black and whites and lovely colour as well. The smile is just great.

Thank you all once again  :-* :-* :-*

Hi

Not sure if anyone can help but my husband is trying to trace his family name of Ling. He so far has discovered that his ancestors come from the Norfolk area but is very interested in the name's historical origins. He thinks it maybe Scandinaian/Viking. Any help would be appreciated.

Kind regards

Hi everyone it has been a while since I last posted a photo for restoration. I hope everyone is well. Could this lovely old photo please be cleaned up. The age spots (there are some marks on the boys face), and dirt on the photo plus the paper backing removed. The photo belongs to a dear friend and this is his photo of his father. I have of course told him what miracle workers you all are so I am hoping this photo will come up wonderfully with some restoration.

Can't wait to see what all of you talented people come up with :) :) :)
Kind regards

Dear DeeBoneham

Thanks for the tip. I will definitely spend some time in a few bookstores and look through them. There are quite a few books out about spitfires and like you say I may strike it lucky
Thanks again

WOW  :o :o ;D ;D

I got the biggest shock when I saw your messages. I can't thank you both enough particularly you Alamoon. It has been over 2 years since my last posting and I was just off to bed when I checked my emails and there was your messages. I was glued to the screen for the next 2 hours. I didn't get to bed till 1.30 in the morning  ::)

Ian was my Father's cousin and I don't believe the family ever knew what really happened to him and to read the report and the letters was just amazing and heart breaking. Thank you very much.

I do have one question does anyone know how I might go about finding out what U.S. units were in that area of Italy at that time it would be nice to know who those Americans were that took the time to bury him.

Thanks so much again I can't wait to tell my cousins and siblings about this info  ;D

Kind regards
