London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Re: Help with Mercy MOBBS
« on: Sunday 12 February 12 14:55 GMT (UK)  »
Its been a long time since this was posted but Mercy Mobbs/Milne is one of my ancestors.  Wondered how you were related to her and if you had an other information.
Think she may have been related to Mobbs who were transported.
Any info welcome.

Thank you both for the information.
Looks like baby Susan didn't survive till 1851!
Any ideas on tracing the James Harriot marriage?

Brilliant thanks so much.
Just confirming the middle link.  Is there a record of Thomas and Harriotts marriage?  which would be around 1830ish.
If I wanted to go back further on Clement are there any records that far back?

Trying to find birth baptism details of Jane A EEDES.  Born about 1836 in Hurstpierpoint.
Think her father was James.
Any help would be wonderful.

Sussex Lookup Requests / SMITH family - Bury, Sussex
« on: Tuesday 05 October 10 09:51 BST (UK)  »
Trying to trace Smith family. Easy I know!
Henrietta Smith (Bn 1859 Q4 Brighton) father was William Smith Bap 6.11.1831 in Bury.  Think mother was Jane A Eedes (Bap 1836 Hurstpierpoint).
1841 shows William living with his parents Thomas & Harriott in Bury.  In same family group is Clement Smith born about 1771.  Could this be William's father?
Any help with confirming the above or with help on Bury BMD parish records very gratefully received.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Milne + Cholera
« on: Thursday 09 October 08 19:55 BST (UK)  »
I have been trying to find two people James Milne born in Scotland  @ 1777 who married a Mercy Mobbs in 1817 in St Dunstand Stepney. In 1841 they are shown as Thomas and Mary but the children all fit with other records.  Mercys' birth year would be around 1796 in Bromley but have no other info.
In 1851 they are living in Poplar.  In 1854 Mercy dies of cholera .  Her death cert shows her name as Mercy Muggeridge Milne but I have no idea where this middle name comes from as it is not on her marriage record.  James was present and registered the death.
I then loose James/Thomas.  He was a mariner/sailor.
I would love help find them and if anyone has any info on a cholera outbreak in Poplar in 1854.  It was during same time frame as the famous Broad St outbreak but too far away.
Here's hoping Ann

Sorry for the delay in expressing my thanks.  do you know what a Landed Prop(ietor) was?  I have his son's george Thomas birth cert and he was a corn chandler.  There is a suggestion that he came from 'money'?
Also any help with his son.  George married a Maud and had a daughter constance.  Can't find where they get to but George was a soicitor.  Any help greatly appreciated. Ann
