Kent Lookup Requests / Re: George Cook 1841 census look up please
« on: Wednesday 22 February 12 18:38 GMT (UK)  »
It's a while since i picked up my family research and i forgot that i'd already posted regarding George. I'm not in the area, although grew up in  Kent so it's looking like i need to try and get hold of his marriage certificate to go any further with this one. Thanks for looking that up anyway, much appreciated.

Kent Lookup Requests / George Cook 1841 census look up please

I know the chances of finding information off the 1841 census are limited but i wondered if anyone could find me George Cook born about 1817 in Sheerness. I know he married in 1844 in Dover so he may have been living in Dover in 1841 or Sheerness or around that area. Details of parent and siblings would be wonderful if they are available.
Thanks

Thanks Radcliff for that extra info which i didn't have. It's much appreciated. Alistair if you'd like to get in touch again let me know. It's the same email address as before but not sure if you still got it.

We have to also take into consideration that the families themselves may not be able to spell their own names if they couldn't read and write. Mind you it's not difficult to spell George!

Actually Benjamin had a brother called William born 1742 also in Kidlington which would make him about 78/79 in 1820. I wonder if they both moved in to Northants? Food for thought!

Thanks both of you. No wonder i couldn't find them! Someone these spellings are crazy! I had a Hetherington transcribed as Tytherington once and Tyrrell has been Tynell which was slightly easier to find but not a lot!
