My father,Archibald Macnab,the son of John Robb Macnab and Jeanie Hawthorne, was born in Rosehill in 1910.   Are there any Macnab"s still living there if indeed it still exists.  I would appreciate any photographs,past or present of the area and should anyone remember the Macnab"s or have a connection with the family I would be delighted to hear from you

My Grandfather was Perter McMartin,born 4th September,1875 in Kilmadock and my Grandmother was Jane Hunter Crooks,born 1st February 1888 in Bothwell Park.  My Grandfather was a coal miner and worked in the Fife area.   They had 5 children,Peter,Annie,my mother Catherine,Jessie and James.   My mother,was born at 29,Landale Terrace,Auchtertool and I believe that Catherine and Jessie were born there as well.  The whole family moved to Glasgow sometime in the 1920s.  I would be interested to hear from anyone with connections to the McMartins

           Many thanks for the kind words.   Unfortunately only William and Mattie are still living but as far as I know only William leaves no children behind.  I believe that John's,Robert's and Fullartons(AKA Phil) children still live in New Cumnock.  John who was married to Chrissie McAlpine lived in the Coupla and Robert,Louise and Phil lived first at Connel Park and then at Burnside.  Mattie lives in Australia but I know all her details as I had the good sense to marry her.
