Hi, I do not think that there is any of the Bell family living in either of those two townlands at present.  As part of the townland of Lissize includes part of Rathfriland have you got more info on the address for the family that lived in Lissize. I know that there was a Bell family lived in Main St. but some of that family emigrated to the U.S.A.
 Cheers,  Sam.

  Hi,

Drumballyroney is a Parish and there is no townland of that name. Drumballyroney Parish includes part of Rathfriland and some townlands to the north of Rathfriland.

 Cheers,   Sam.

Hi,  Can you place the family in any Townland as the parish of Drumgath takes in part of Rathfriland as well as a rural area.
 Have a look at   raymondscountydownwebsite.com
There still is Bell families living in the Rathfriland area.

 Cheers,  Sam.

Hi,  Have a look at    http://countydown.x10.mx/

There is also a Poots family in the Dromore area. Could be some of the same family.

 Cheers,   Sam.

Hi Cathy,
The townland is written as Magheral on the maps so it is the full name.  As your ancestors were Presbyterian the  church they most likely went to would have been Ballyroney or else one of the four Presbyterian churches in Rathfriland.
I will send you a PM later.
  Cheers,  Sam.

Hi,  To answer your question on Seafin and Magheral, these are two rural townlands about two miles N/E of Rathfriland. It is a farming area and the townlands are adjoining so in places they would be separated only  by a hedge.
 Cheers,  Sam.
