England / Re: Could a Death Entry be mistranscibed ?

Hi Stan ,
Thanks for your answer. So these entries had several chances for the Letter Y to go Missing off the Surname Mullany,

Thats what i wanted to know if it was possible so you have answered that nicely.

                                     Many Thanks

                                                          Yvonne ;D

England / Could a Death Entry be mistranscibed ?
« on: Wednesday 02 July 08 17:03 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,

I have been trawling through Death Entries on ancestry for days to find My Grandfathers Brother !!

He was Born James Mullany in 1911 Oldham ,
Married a Lily Edwards in 1938 in Manchester (But Called Himself Patrick )
My Aunty says they always use to know him as Uncle Pat !! (My Mullanys all liked using different names ) :-X
He Died in his 40's According to Family (So 1951 - 1961 )
Lily His wife Remarried in Manchester in 1961.

The only Death i can find that Matches is a James Mullan Q4 1959 age 48 Manchester which is correct area, and age .

Could they have missed the Y of Mullany ??  ??? On the records !!

If not the only other death i found is James P Mullaney ( Ours is not with the E ) Q1 1955 Age 43 Rotheram ,  I dont know what he would have been doing there when they lived in Manchester  ???

What do others think i would love to hear other opinions on this
Before i waste money on 2 Certs  :(

                                       Thanks Yvonne  ;D

Hi all,
I emailed SP Where i got the entry from, Here is what i got back ,

Quote
Thank you for your e-mail. Having looked at the entry the writing
appears to suggest that the mother's maiden name was Susan McQueen, and
the cause of death being 'Internal Organic Affection - Uraemic
poisoning'. I have attached a larger copy of the image to this reply: I
hope this helps.

Uraemic Poisoning was a term for Acute Renal Failure , So that now makes sense (I Think)

Have Attached a part of the new copy to see what everybody thinks, Hopefully this is a bit clearer :-\

                                          Yvonne ;)

Hi all,

Thanks for all the help, To answer some of the questions,  The death entry is age 38 (not 58)

I have the Marriage entry for Daniel McAulay & Ann Mcneil But i didn't have the Birth Of there Daughter So Thanks Hume24 for that one  ;)
I have him on 1861 census living in Tobago St . They seem to vanish before that  ???  :(
And thanks for all suggestions with Names For Daniels Mother & his cause of Death ;)
I will keep digging they must be there somewhere (I Hope )
