« on: Monday 10 September 07 23:01 BST (UK) »The only thing I've got that might be of interest is a small collection of letters from a British officer in the First World War trenches writing to his sister back home. Quite interesting as one letter describes a German plane crash landing in a nearby field!

That's right - if you bid £100, and there's only one other bidder and they've bid £10, then you will win the auction and pay £11 for the item. If someone bids £98, then you'd have to pay £100 and so on. It becomes second nature after a while!
