Donegal / DYSART in Burt and CHAMBERS in Taughboyne
« on: Friday 31 December 04 17:54 GMT (UK)  »
I have a lot of info on the DYSARTs in Carnamaddy in Burt but would like to connect them to the merchant DYSARTs in Londonderry. Any info gladly received.

I also have CHAMBERS in Drummucklagh and Brockagh in Taughboyne parish.  My branch -Archibald Chambers- moved to Tyrone prior to Griffiths.  Nearly all his children were baptised in Ballylennon Pres church.  Again would be glad to hear from anyone researching these Chambers.

OOps!  I forgot I was in Donegal.  My suggestion to Theresa of

applies to Northern Ireland.
For Donegal you need GRO in Dublin.

Apologies

I have  an 1871 directory for Derry and district.  It includes some  Donegal towns.  It is not indexed and nothing - not even towns and villages -is in alpa order.  Do you have an approx location and I can have a look.?

You  may not have known, but probably do now,  that there are no censuses available for most of Ireland before 1901.  They were destroyed in 1922.

Your have a couple of options:
if you know a location, check church records and
as he was born in 1895 a birth cert would be available.
