Hi
Sorry its took me a while to reply.
James was born on the 20th October 1887.  He was married to Maria.  He enlisted at Pontefract Barracks with his two brothers, Clifford (My dads father) and William.  He was a Sargent in the Kings Own Light Infantry 1st/4th battalion.
James died at the battle of the Somme on the 5th July 1916.  His body was never recovered.

Hi
He was my gggg grandad.  Three generations back was an illegitimate son which makes us Cockers from there back.
I have a lot of info on the Cockers.  I do have a full tree on Genes Reunited but you have to be a member.

Thanks for that.
It's just what I wanted.  Nice and simple.  My son's 11 so he should find it easy to fill in (with my help).
