Could James possibly have married again?

There is a James McCann in 1871 census, born c1843 in Ireland, occupation Carter.
21 Union Lane, Calton.


James McCann age 28 born Ireland, occ. Carter and coal dealer
Mary (wife) age 26 born Airdrie
Mary (daughter) age 2 born Glasgow
Ann (daughter) born 1871, Glasgow
Susan McGroggan (Mother-in-law) age 60 (widow) born Ireland

That James Waterston death is not military - it's a death at sea ("Marine Return" is the clue). He was master of the ship Perthshire.

If he was a serving soldier, this could possibly be his death.
I know spelling of his name is slightly different, but would be worth a look

One of the Eric Martins born in 1946 was a football player

Eric Martin (born 31 March 1946  Perth) is a Scottish former football goalkeeper,
 who played 248 Football League games for Southampton between 1967 and 1975.
He also played both outdoor and indoors in the North American Soccer League for
the Washington Diplomats from 1975–1979.

The family appear to be back in Ireland in 1871.

There is a birth for a Susan Murphy, born 4th Dec. 1871 in Belfast.
Parents James Murphy and Susan Murphy (maiden name)
