Thanks Drinks. I am now not so sure that he came to Aus on the Fever ship Ticonderoga. It could be him but this person states he was from Somerset, not Devon

I believe you are correct but I still don't have my Sarah being a child of Mary Forby. Mary has 6 known children but Sarah isn't among the 6 - Bummer!

This is my info:
William Barritt (not Barrett) born 1743, England, died  14 Feb Tittleshall, Norfolk, married Mary Forby 25 March 1777 at Tittleshall. She was christened 27 Dec 1759 at St Mary, Tittleshall, so she was 16 years younger than him. Mary Forby's parents could be
(1) Richard and Anne from Tittleshall or Belaugh, Norfolk, or
(2)Thomas and Susan from Stoke Ferry, Norfolk.
They had 6 recorded children, and my Sarah is not one of the 6, but it is the only Barritt family in Tittleshall, so i may be completely wrong. I already have Mary's father pencilled in as being Richard Forby, born 1735. There is a Richard Forby, christened 7 Mar 1735, son of Thomas Forby widower and Elizabeth Mitchell, who died 31 Jan, 1749 (LDS records)
What do you think -

William Henry Carpenter arrived in Williamstown sometime around 1850. He was originally from Devon. He had 6 daughters and a son and the daughters who married became Ward, Carey, Lloyd and Thomas, Coles and Davidson. I know of people called Moore and Carland who are also researching the Coles connection and would like to get in contact with these people

Hi Trish
I went back to LDS and found a 2nd Mary Forby, Father Thomas Forby and mother Susan (probably Harvey). They were married 11 Oct 1757 and their Mary was christened 6 Oct 1765 at Stoke Ferry Norfolk. There is also a Mary Forby, married Henry Francis, 12 Nov 1770 at Tittleshall, as well as a Mary Forby marrying William Barrett 25 Mar 1777 at Tittleshall. There also seem to be a lot of Richard Forby's around at this time and I was wondering if you could please check your resources for more Mary, Thomas or Richard Forby in Norfolk

Yes Trish - no luck there. Sarah Barritt was born in Tittleshall in 1786 and married Lewis Wilcher 28 Feb 1810. No other info,

Thanks again! Any mention of a Sarah Barritt, Mary's daughter, born in 1786 in Tittleshall?

Thanks Trish
So William and Mitchell were both born 12 August but one year apart. Is that correct?

Norfolk / Forby or Barrett/Barritt from Norfolk

I am interested in obtaining info on Mary Forby (1759 to 1809) father Richard Forby, born 1735, grandfather Thomas Forby, born 1710, possibly all from Tittleshall, Norfolk. Also Barrett or Barritt from same area.
