Thank you for your reply Raymond. The very little I know is from their marriage certificate from 24 DEC 1914 ST MARY'S CHURCH, ERSKINEVILLE NSW Australia ( Sydney suburb). See attachment.Alex and my great grandmother did not have children. I have also attached a photo of their wedding
I would love to be able to fill in a little more about Alexander if you could assist
Thanks Terese, Hunter Valley, NSW, Australia.

I've just come across this chat. I am looking for information on Alexander McGinness ( and every spelling combination known). His parents were John and Margaret Hegarty. It looks like we have the same family. Alexander was my great grandmothers 3rd husband.

Dublin / Lynch / Babbington
« on: Monday 24 September 12 11:24 BST (UK)  »
Hi to everyone
I am trying to find information on my Lynch and Babbington families.
My g-g-g-grandfather was David Lynch born 16 April 1794 Dublin.
He was in the 2nd/83rd Regiment of the Foot between 1809 and 1814.
He married Eleanor Frances Babbington about 1821. Place and date unknown.
They had 7 children between 1821- 1835 all born in Leeds, Yorkshire.
They moved to Manchester around 1837 and David died there in Feb 1871.
If they used traditional naming patterns Davids parents maybe David and Elizabeth.
He was Catholic.

Eleanor Frances Babbington ( There are usually 2 "b"'s recorded thus far ) was born 1798 Dublin. She died in1874 Manchester.
If they used traditional naming patterns her parents maybe Ellenor and Patrick.
The above details come from their very descriptive headstones. They both gave their country of birth as Ireland in all census
I would love to know ANYTHING at all about David and Eleanors Irish families.

Many thanks

Hi MariaC
I have David J's certificate and it says he was in Australia for 52 years.....thats why I think he must have come with parents but I can't establish when and where.
I have a possible death for David G in 1900 so I may just buy it and see if its him
Thanks for your reply

Hi CuriousDiana
I can't get their death certs until I find them!!!! I have no solid record of them in Australia at all.
I've looked through every record I can think of on-line and can't match up incoming with my group.
There is always a chance one of the parents died in England or some other event and I'm searching for the wrong grouping but the names and dates just don't quite jell.
Oh well thats the fun of it  :'(

Thanks Kenhar and Gatacre
I've written to the church but I've not had a reply. I was just wondering if I should give up completely.
Maybe I'll phone.

Hi
I'm  trying to find my LYNCH family entering Australia
David George born 1823 Yorkshire wife Maria born 1821 Yorkshire and at least one child David James 1850 Manchester but I've seen Leeds on other info.
I have this family in Manchester in the 1851 census......then David James marrying in 1878 Yass, NSW
In David James' obit it says he was in the country for 52 years......would make him around 7 (1857)
I know obits can be inaccurate but its all I have to go on.

I'm beginning to believe in UFO's
Can anyone help???????
