Yorkshire (West Riding) / Re: Bradford, Scholemoor Cemetary plan

Hi Colin,

The attached link below is the said map of unconsecrated section 3 of Scholemoor that you're looking for  ;)
I too have had many issues with the finding of graves within that cemetery over the years. As not only are the sections hard to identify, the ordering of plots is at times ridiculous whereas the next grave in sequence is 50-100 yards away.
Looking at the map, the top right hand corner is the Necropolis road entrance to the cemetery with the carriage road (now the main driveway) running down the right hand side of the map going down the hill (from top to bottom) towards the crematorium/chapel of rest.
The graves you are looking for are towards the bottom right hand side.

Hope this helps.

Pete.

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / Re: Help please on finding death record!
« on: Sunday 23 September 12 22:50 BST (UK)  »
Just a quick 6 year update, as you do...

I've still not had any luck whatsoever in finding out what happened to the aforesaid Caleb Hartland.

I found his wife Jane's burial at Merridale Municipal Cemetery, Wolverhampton, took note of the grave number and found she's buried with a woman of no apparent relation. It's probably a pauper grave.

I could do with new sets of eyes looking into this.. nudge nudge wink..
If anyone can help me i'll offer my help in return.

Cheers,

Pete.

Hi guys,

Do we know that this Beatrice was definitely buried? 1947 is quite feasible as a year where cremation is a possibility?
 Just a thought.....

Regards,
Peter.

Edit: I've noticed also that most people were cremated at Lawnswood Crematorium, Leeds round that time. Before the opening of Park Wood at Elland and the Huddersfield Crematorium.

Hi guys,

I'm searching for any information regarding the family of Jonathan Oldham my G.G.G.G Grandfather who was born c.1781 in Hepworth. I have the details of his marriage to Elizabeth Blacker in 1806 at Emley also their 5 children and further descendancy. The 1851 & 1861 census' both record him at a younger age, suggesting he was born in 1789.
I'm struggling to find any record of Jonathan's baptism thus no record of parents and siblings (if any) from the IGI. His 2nd marriage record of 1848 does however record his father as John Oldham a Clothier so that may help.

Thank you for your time people!
Regards,

Peter.

Hi Cati,

Jane was buried in the Merridale Municipal Cemetery on Jeffcock Road, not too far away from where the family resided.
Any information that you're willing to share on the Hartlands would be much appreciated, I too will provide you with the info I have collected over the past few years.

Peter.

Thanks for the lookups guys, they're much appreciated.

Haven't been on this site for a while and was pleasantly surprised to see my Hartlands amongst other families have been looked into further!
An update if i may? Caleb Hartland still hasn't been found in way of death records, Wolverhampton Council confirmed to me that he is not buried with or for that matter in the same cemetery as his wife or any of the other mainstream cemeteries in the locality. I'm rather hoping he's in a family plot elsewhere in the city or that a missing persons report will be found in the old newspapers if all else fails??! For such an unusual name combo, Caleb Hartland is proving to be a toughy!
Any more ideas on where to look would be more than appreciated.

Cheers,
Peter.

Hi Jan,

It could possibly be, I just assumed though with it saying Robert Jackson m. Mary ? in Beighton, Derbyshire 1807 on the I.G.I but not giving anymore details that the marriage was in Beighton?? and as I found out Beighton isn't covered by the I.G.I until 1813 so entries beforehand must have been made by the LDS members. I shall look into the info you have given me.

Cheers,

Peter.

Hi All,

My G.G.G.G Grandfather Robert Jackson of Hooton Roberts, Yorkshire married a Mary ? of Beighton, Derbyshire/Yorkshire in around 1807 in Beighton, there marriage is not on the I.G.I as the Beighton records in the index start at 1813. If someone has access to the Boyd's Marriage Index or Beighton marriage records I would be very grateful if you could help me.

Kindest regards & thanks in advance,
Peter.
