Hi L,

Late last  night and early this AM, I had same experience with the  Belfast Forum. Just tried to log on to the Glasgow Forum and received the same response.

Hope someone can tell us "what's up"? ???

Thanks so much for the suggestions. Found my GFs will at PRONI when first started in the early 1980s  but never thought to look for GGF.
Appreciate the help. Sheila

Tyrone / Gorman Look-up/Cookstown, Co. Tyrone

Hello All,
My GGF, Willliam Gorman was a boot trader who lived on Orritor Street, Cookstown.  Know the following: 1. GGF marriage on 05/02/1846 in Donaghmore Parish Tyrone. William Gorman to Letitia McCourt witnessed by Eugene and Mary McCourt. 2. Children born 02/12/1849 were Mary of Wm Gorman and Letitia McCourt---He also used Wm in Griffiths, Patrick (my GF) on 15/05/1852 of William Gorman and Alice McCort----her name is different on every document and William 0n 07/03/1858 of William Gorman and Alicia McCourt.
I know what happened to Patrick--myGF---and William Jr. whose death was reported by Letitia on 22/06/1872.
Can anyone find any info re death of William(Wm) Gorman, Letitia Gorman or marriage/death of Mary Gorman.  With thanks, S

Down / Re: Ballymacarrett

Hi Sarah
Just wanted to add to the confusion. My mother was born in Ballymacarrett. She and two siblings came to US in the 1920s and 30s. They always said they were from County Down tho they did join the County Antrim Society in NY. (I don't even know if there was a "Down" group).
As to current designation, the Irish Times Ancestor site and Ulster Ancestors places Ballymacarret  in County Down.
Good luck with your search. S

Donegal / Re: Some Co. Donegal Railway personnel

HI Christopher
Thanks for all the info you provide. My GF worked in Creeslough as a carpenter for Donegal Railway so was interested in your reference to ledger and cash book in PRONI. Checked that website and can't find any listing for the material. Can you tell me what UTA Records are?
Just preparing for my next visit to Belfast.  Sheilago
