Hi NZGlenda
If you would like some help with your research, please contact me; I've been researching Swindley for some time now.
Your family line is similar to MariKay, and might come thru Henry Harvard Swindley born 1849 London England
Regards

Down / Re: Saintfield - where are the church records 1780 to 1833?

Hi Christopher,

Thank you for that information. I am told that the Saintfield records held in Proni do not include the time period I'm looking for re 1815-1834. I'm further informed that some records are held at the church but I can't get an answer from the church clerk. I guess I'll have to save my pennies and go over there.

Thanks again

Hi Gary,

Thanks for responding.

I have a family named McFarlin and/or McFarland in that area.

To start with I would be interested in Robert born 1792 in Saintfield, baptised at Boardmills. He was married about 1818 and had several children at Saintfield; James about 1818, Richard 1821, and John 1832, plus 3 girls.

I have no information to confirm any of this except his baptism.

I would like to know who his spouse was and anything else about him.  Later he became a sub editor for the Newry Telegraph and Belfast Newsletter.

If you can help that would be excellent, thanks.

Down / Saintfield - where are the church records 1780 to 1833?
« on: Wednesday 05 September 07 21:34 BST (UK)  »
Help, I'm trying to find the early church records from this town.

Does anyone know if  there are church records for any of the Presbyterian and Church of Ireland churches in Saintfield for the period 1780 to 1833?

LDS gives only a few years and PRONI seems to have none at all.

Thanks
