John Byrne's son Thomas Byrne was my father-in-law ,he came to the US in 1954 and brought his wife and daughter here in 1956. Moving to Springfield Mo. Tom never spoke about his past while alive but after his death in 1979 we found out that he severed in the British army serving in Africa  and Malta finally in Germany where he married my mother in law, we tried to get information about his youth but to no avail. I would like to be able to do some research as to his military life and any information about his growing up years. Have i reached a dead end?

Geoff,
I have just started doing a genealogy search on our "Byrne" ancestors who lived in Ireland, County Wexford in the town of Ballymurn. I can send you the info that I have maybe there is some connection to your family.
