Hi my great great grandmother was Isabella Tait, married to William Cowden. They were married by the Gaelic minister in 1828, wonder if it's the same family. Isabella's father was called John.

Hi Brian my Dad workedin Bishopton and recieved the Imperial Service Medal. I lived in Paisley and when I was in school we heard a couple of massive explosions at different times. Some of those killed were never found. Nitro Glycerine was used there.. Some of the buildings maybe only one or two persons were allowed to work there.
No cigarettes were allowed throuugh the gates, only time smoking was allowed was in the canteen.
Hope this wee bit of info helps. Isabella :)

Hi Elaine just found your enquiry about Thomas Maxwell. My Grt. Grt. Grandma was Mary Maxwell and she had a brother Thomas born about 1842. Their father was a Thomas Maxwel too. Is this of any help? Isabella

Hi do you think the Cowdens come from the one family, as it is not such a common name. I know my grannie was called Auntie Bella by quite a few, her father was thomas.

My william was married to Isabella Tait who's father was a weaver. I noticed that the Cowdens I found have all the same names. Could be that William and Thomas were brothers. My Great Granda was called Thomas. An address I have was Neilston STreet, now called Neilston Road.
