i did find out over a year ago, that the 1891 cenus Norton lane William Hopley age 30, head Emma Hopley age 34, living with them is a william Mainwaring aged 25yr and his wife Elizabeth mainwairing aged 24yr born Tipton staffs aong with a daughter, Emily aged 11months

at the same time on Norton Lane  is Elizabeth Powis. widdow aged 78,  Edward hopley Grandson age 17, Martha Hopley grandaughter age16, John hopley Grandson age 14, thses are the chidren of William 7 Emma Hopley on the 1881 census, then i came to the brick wall as in 1905 william married Lillian Kraut, but his marriage cert says he was a widow, so thats the story as it still stands hence my brick wall,

Hi Jorose
The witnesses on the cert were  a William hopley, and a Martha Wood, at Cannock register office, the fathers name was john kraut, locomotive Engine stoker, thought with a job like that he would be easy to pin down but it seems not?
                                                                       regards
