Lisa I have been meaning to contact you again and let you know that I travelled to Ireland last year and went to the town that the Mahan and Codys lived and even meet a relative through the Cody line.

Armed Forces / What uniform is this?

I have been given this photo.  It is believed to be of a Scottish Soldier with gun & musket.  Does anyone have any ideas. ?  I have found another photo on the net and the  arm of the jacket has  a similar pattern on it. Is this significant ??

Many thanks for the repiles to this thread.  My problem is on their death printouts.  It only states Auckland for the burial, there is no mention of any cemetery.

James Shaw was born in Kilsyth, Scotland and came out to NZ in 1860's.  He did have a brother David Shaw also in NZ and had a brother John Shaw who went to Australia.
