Family History Beginners Board / Lookup surname MENIER
« on: Thursday 01 May 08 04:47 BST (UK)  »
Hello,
I'm back, no wiser though.
I am hoping that someone could  help me find information on the following people and a possible link up with the MENERE family?:
Jonas MENIER c10/9/1626 London Eng, married Elisabette Des FONTAINNE, Jonas's fathers name is Jonos MENIER, Madelaine MENIER c4/11/1610 London Eng, Jenne MENIER c2/3/1628, Jenne MENIER c21/2/1631, Cristening place Threadneedle Street French Huguenot, London, England.
I have no marriage date or where the marriage took place.
Some of the MENIER'S were choclatiers (Chocolat MENIER), MENIER is the original spelling for MENERE so I am informed.

The Common Room / Re: Born out of wedlock (Bastard)
« on: Thursday 13 December 07 14:18 GMT (UK)  »
Hello Hiraeth,
Thank you for your reply, but the Joseph MENERE I refer to was born around 1770 d 30/5/1847 Marylebone London, married Sarah PRICKETT 14/7/1809 in St Georges Hanover Sq Middlesex, Sarah was born abt 1779 in Chalfont St Peter Buckinghamshire  and died 9/5/1877 in Chalfont St Peter Buckinghamshire,
I have this information, what I am looking for is Joseph's birthplace and or his parents or siblings, which I have had no luck in finding.
regards,
Ozzyal

The Common Room / Born out of wedlock (Bastard)
« on: Thursday 13 December 07 01:22 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all,  :)
Could some kind person help me find some one whom I now think was born out of wedlock (a bastard child) as I cannot find records of my 3ggf Joseph MENERE's birth place or parent/s, I have search the huegenots sights, dug through numerous census's, parish's and countrys to no avail.
Is there a search site to find bastards? (apart from my rellos place),
no seriously is there some one who is doing this type of research???
It seems to me there is no Menere's out there or they are not contacting me,
any way the search goes on, and on and on.
Regards,
Ozzyal.

Every one have a very merry christmas and a very happy and prosperous new year!!

The Common Room / Confused with census
« on: Monday 12 November 07 01:36 GMT (UK)  »
Hello everyone,
??? I'm confused, can somone explain to me how a family can be in the same place at the same time, even though the towns are fairly close to each other?
I was checking the 1851 Census for England and Wales for my MENERE family which has 3 districts shown - Brislington, Kynesham and Bitton, I was wondering if my family waited till the census was done at Brislington  then ran down the road to Kynsham and got counted again, then ran down the road again to Bitton and got counted for the third time? There is, I'm sure, a simple answer to this?
Also can someone let me know where Kingston, Esher is??? as there is a Mary MENERE age 29 listed also. Do any chatters out there know of any MENERE familys related or not?? I have not heard a peep out of anyone yet, I'm still having a hard time finding anything pre 1800!
Many thanks,
Ozzyal

The Common Room / Headstone transcription found-Chalfont
« on: Tuesday 16 October 07 09:49 BST (UK)  »
Hello,
I found this headstone transcription for my ancestors in Chalfont on this sight:

Rootschatters, check it out you  may find your ancestor/s there too.
The transcription reads:
Mrs. Sarah MENERE/who died February 9th 1877/aged 98 years/also Mrs.Ann PRICKETT who died August 27th 1857/also Mary MENERE/ who died October 25th 1861/also Mrs Sarah BALLARD/widow of the late John BALLARD/ who died December 23rd 1894 aged 80 years.

Now I know Sarah BALLARD is Sarah MENERE'S (nee PRICKETT) daughter, but as yet have not worked out where Mary MENERE and Mrs Ann PRICKETT(married name?) fit in, Ann may be Sarah Snr's sister.

Now I DO know my ggggrandmothers maiden name is PRICKETT at last, thanks to the rootschatter who supplied me with  the Boyd's marriage index.
If someone can help me find info for Mary MENERE and Mrs Ann PRICKETT I will be very happy, another piece of my brickwall is chipped of, only 4million to go? ha ha.
Cheers,
OZZYAL
PS please dont reply with derogative comments, it doesn't affect me.
