Thanks Trish - that's brilliant - wonder when they changed from Farlane to MacFarlane - it looks like this could be it - John being son of Farlane.

Very sweet of you - have a great Christmas.

Sincerely
Maggie :)

Ross & Cromarty / Re: Name study of HOLM on the black Isle?

 :)

You also posted another message regarding Isobel Holm who married George Williamson.

Yes, I have Isobel Holm recorded as being married to George Williamson, s/o Bernard and Margaret Ross.

I have George's father as Bernard Williamson who married Jean Mackenzie c1680 in Cromarty.

Jean Mackenzie is d/o Captain Daniel Mackenzie and Nancy Dunbar and sister to Rev Bernard Mackenzie who died 1713 at his Sandilands Estate, buried Fortrose.

Captain Daniel Mackenzie is s/o Major Bernard Mackenzie and Mrs Ramsay. Major Bernard fell at the battle of Auldern, Scotland in 1645.

Major Bernard Mackenzie was s/o Colonial Mackenzie & Miss Wolford, d/o Countess Wolford of Belgium.

I will give you more information on Isobel Holm in a separate response.

Regards Maggie

Hi Jemstone:

As soon as I saw your posting, I thought it must be our Holm clan and it could still be.

I have traced the Holms back to the late 16th century, so I will do a bit more delving,

I do have a William Holm marrying a Margaret Williamson in 1802 in Cromarty, R&C.

Will get back to you.

Kind regards

Thank you Colin - that is him I'm sure.

It does make it easier to trace if you know where places are, so I thank you for this information.

Should you come across anything else on the MacFarlane Clan from Clackmannan or Dunblane, please let me know - it would be very much appreciated.

May I take this opportunity of wish you all t he very best for the festive season.

With sincere thanks
Maggie

Thank you so much Valda for your advice.  I have searched and searched and cannot find PERCIVAL RICHARD PRATT.

I do not have a copy of the Marriage Certificate.

With his different birthdates and places of birth, it is difficult.  I have searched the IGI's as well.

He has to be somewhere?

Again thanks for your interest.  With regards Maggie

???

Looking for birth details of PERCIVAL RICHARD PRATT BORN between 1828-1833 in Essex, England.

I can find him in 1841/51/61/71/81 and his place of birth varies from Belcham, Little Yeldham & Fulham - all in Essex.

1841 he was in a boarding school in Suffolk aged 13 - so no parent's names.

Percival died in the first quarter of 1886, age given was 53 yrs.

Can anyone help me solve this dilemma BIG PLEASE ;D.

Thanks and regards, Maggie - Australia
