Census Lookup and Resource Requests / Subscription to 1921 census
« on: Tuesday 09 September 25 17:33 BST (UK)  »
Just lookingat Find My Past sub for the 1921 and all other records - they are offering a half price sub for about £8.47 per month.  Presumably this is for a year but does seem to be a very good offer.  Has anyone taken up this offer and is it that good.  I do a one name study and wonder whether they restrict your time of using it.  Please can I have your view on this.  Best wishes. Denzil.

Just a quick note on Shillingstone station.  As you probably know the line was close d in the sixties but a lot of enthusiasts are working on the station premises to bring it either up to date or to look as it was years ago.  They are doing a good job.  Very little track available at present but they are hoping to buy more in the future.  Well worth a visit on Wednesdays or weekends best.

K Garrard.
Many thanks for the baptism details - I did not have them.
By the way I see Crocker is an interest for you.  I am in North Dorset and have a Crocker family living here and have been for years.  Is this any help?  Regards.

Lincolnshire / whiting family lincolnshire

Is anyone searching for the Whiting family, father Joshua born 1834 in Benington, Lincs who married Sarah Pinchbeck 1854.  My interest is with daughter Alice born 1867 in Louth or Hagworthingham.  She says born in Hag on the 1891 census when married to my grandfather Horace Taylor Rosher living in Suffolk.  No marriage cert can I find. Also known as Halles on earlier census.

It would help if someone has this family interest.  Many thanks.

Suffolk / Re: Rozier of Needham Market
« on: Wednesday 05 February 25 17:05 GMT (UK)  »
Hi David.
Checking a few things on Rozier etc.  Sarah Cook I have a note was born in Earl Stonham and William could have been born in Needham Market. Pretty sure his parents were John Rozier married Sarah Borley 12.3.1784 at Creeting All Saints.  Henry and Francis Mann no relation as they lived Pakenham.John and Sarah lived Needham Market where John died 3.4.1840.  Possibly Sarah's parents were Robert and Sarah.
Don't know where Sarah and Charles Ribbans married but probably Needham as all their children born there. No more yet on earlier Ribbans but I will look at some CD's I have bought from Suffolk History Society where I am a member. So bye for now. Denis

Canada Lookup Request / Re: Ontario Marriage
« on: Thursday 14 December 23 17:18 GMT (UK)  »
Many thanks to the replies I have had regarding Winifred Link.  She did well in Canada because she was a Home Child sent out ona ship in 1912 a couple of months after the Titanic went down.  About 120 Barnardo's children also on the ship.  Her mother - my paternal grandmother - died in London in 1904 and with other family members lived in Ipswich orphanage.  Don't we have easier lives now.
Best wishes to all for the information.
