Did William and Sarah have other children?
Sarah Ann; Martha; William; Sam; Hannah and Tom?
If so, they were living in Thornhill Lees in 1861 and 1871, but no John on either census.

Hi
I've just spoken to one of Cassie's granddaughters. I'm going to print off your original as she'd like to see it. Apparently Cassie went to Llanrwst one day and never came back. They think she went to Ireland. Will keep you informed of any new info

Trefriw WI recorded the inscriptions on all the graves in Trefriw churchyard, Llanrwchwyn, Ardda and (I think) the cemetery in the 1980s. The results were sent to the county achives, but there is a copy in the church.

Hi Judy

If she lived in Whitley she could have been baptised at Thornhill as until the church in Whitley was built people were baptised, married and buried in Thornhill.

Re families intermarrying.
Rachel Blakely's mother was the sister-in-law of my g.g.grandfather (John Taylor). Rachel's sister Emma married the grandson of another of John's sisters.

Hi Chris
Have you looked at the Mirfield parish registers on
www.archive.org/index.php
I'm not sure if they go as far as 1756, but there are some Swithenbanks in the index.
