Somerset Lookup Requests / Winsham marriage
« on: Sunday 20 September 09 21:04 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Can anyone locate the details of a marriage in the parish of Winsham please?

This is the marriage between James (born c.1801 in Winsham) and Mary Wills (born c.1811 in Wayford) and I would expect to take place circa 1830. I'm hoping to find Mary's maiden name, any other details re parents/witnesses would be a bonus.

Thanks!  :)

Somerset / Bastardy order
« on: Monday 31 August 09 12:18 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I've found a record of a bastardy order for my ancestor which is held at the Somerset Record Office. I've never come across bastardy orders until now.

Can anyone tell me what sort of information the record would contain and whether Somerset Record Office would send me a copy or if I'd need to go there for this? I'm in Wales so would be easier not to have to visit if possible.

Thanks

Lancashire / Toxteth Park - Hospital
« on: Monday 10 August 09 20:24 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I found my ancestor Jane Fryzer on the 1871 census. She's listed as a seamstress in a hospital but I can't make out the name of the hospital. The area is Toxteth Park, Liverpool. I've attached an enlarged picture in case anyone can make it out? If so, does anyone know anything about this hospital.
Thanks

Hi

I was wondering if you had any information you could give me regarding my grandfather whose details were:

1476871 L.A.C. DONOVAN, G.M. (Flight runner)

I think he was part of:
4448 A/A Flight
RAF Regiment

Any details at all would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi both!

Thanks for the info, much appreciated!

I do know the counties/registration area, year and qtr for each of the deaths I'm looking into, but don't have an exact date as yet. I will be ordering death certs this week.

I'm in Wales but the deaths are in Rochdale, Lancashire and in Croydon, Surrey so neither are local to me unfortunately.

Hi

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to look up newspaper obituarys from either 1916 or 1936, and if so, where these type of records are held? Would they be in newspaper archives at libraries in the area local to the death??

Any info much appreciated!  :)
