Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Re: Photo improvement John Quinn

;D  You are right about that, Carol!

All you restorers on the board give your time and talents for free, something for which we less-talented people should be very grateful. You are all so generous with your time and skills - even more laudable when you are doing it for people that you don't even know.  :D

The photo restoration board is the first one I look at every day, and I would guess it is for a lot of other people too.  I love to see these old treasured photos brought back to life, and preserved for future generations.

I don't usually comment on the restoration of other people's photos, but I was so impressed by Peter's excellent version of this photo that I had to!  There were more versions after Peter, and they too were amazing.

Hope that you will be back restoring soon Carol; I miss seeing your lovely work.  :-*

Excellent work, Peter, on such a poor quality photo. :)

Oh brilliant!  Thank you very much BookBox. Your help is really appreciated.

Thanks also to horselydown 86, MollyC and Viktoria for your interest in it too.  :)

Thank you BookBox.  I find it strange that the writer has only used Power's surname and not his Christian name.  That's why I originally thought it was a name that had been Latinized.

Thanks for your suggestion, Viktoria  :)

Oh, okay!  I'm open to any other suggestions, thanks!

Thank you too, MollyC! Mystery solved!  :D

A quick look on Google says that "ob" can mean "before", so I'm thinking it means "before God" .

That would sort of make sense.  Thank you for putting me on the right track.

Oh, I can see that! I think Deus means God.  No idea what it means though!  Thanks for your suggestion.
