Hi heywood,

Thanks for your help.

The family were Catholic, although Bridget married in the Church of Ireland.
Her daughter, my g-g grandmother was Catholic.

Thanks everyone for your help and advice.  As far as we know our family were definitely Irish, rather than English born.

Hi,

I would like to find out more about the Dutch family who emigrated to Cardiff from Ireland during the 1850s.  I am a descendant of Michael Dutch born ca. 1842 in Ireland.  We were like to try and find out where in Ireland the family was from.

Thanks

Hi.

I'm researching the Ganley (aka Gantley) family of Gort, Galway.
My ancestor was Bridget Ganley who was born in Gort and married Thomas Saunders in Limerick in January 1873.  Bridget's father was John Ganley, a labourer.

Thanks

Hi,

I'm trying to verify the birth and marriage details of the parents of John Frazer (Fraser) born 1800 in Ballinshae, Kirriemuir.
They were John  Frazer (Fraser) b 1765? and Mary Reoch (Rioch, Riach, Reach) born in 1769? Have found details listed on Family Search, but nothing else through other searches  so far.  I've confirmed that their children were born in Kirriemuir.

Any information or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Sarah,

The closest I can see is this:

Dan CLIFF, dyer married Sophia HOOLEY 30th May 1825 at Astbury

Hope this helps,

Jean

Hi Jean,

Many Thanks for your reply.  Daniel was a dyer, like his father.   Sounds like it may well be our people.  No wonder I couldn't find them in their home parishes!

Sarah

Hi,

I'm trying to trace the marriage of Daniel Cliff b. 1799 of Macclesfield to Sophia(Sofia) who was born in Wilmslow.   I haven't found her maiden name as yet.  The marriage may have taken place around 1830.

I've found the details of Daniel's parents marriage (or at least I hope so!)
Daniel Cliff (Snr) to Sarah Wilshaw, April 22 1794 in Macclesfield and  also other  Cliff's  around this time.

I found a marriage for Thomas Cliff to Lidia Trueman - January 5 1736 - but I don't know if he is connected to them.  It's a long shot but Thomas is a family name.

Any information or advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Sarah
