Hi Tina

Wow thanks for that - it still exists then?  On the census it is Macklands Farm House - it is the same place is it?  This is so exciting!

I'd love any info you could send me, thank you so much.

Wendy

Hi Jane

I'm begining to think its Peper Harrow as I have found a document today which states that 2 of the Wells are buried at Peper Harrow and checking the burial index and the IGI there certainly seems to be a family connection there.

Thanks for your help - I think I'm headed in the right direction now, cheers!

Wendy :)

Hi there - do you know I think you're right!  I have just revisited the census return and it could quite well be Mackland Farm House.  If it is, do you have any info on it? Many thanks Little Mac

In 1851 Charles Rich owned Thackland Farm, Rainham, Kent.  Unable to find any records other than census return.  Any ideas where I should look?  Doesn't appear to be around now!

1851 census states that Joseph Wells was born in Upper Hasson Surrey abt 1797.  Cannot find Upper Hasson - did it or does it exist? Or is this a transcribing error?  Many thanks Little Mac

Thomas Rich from London donated land to Shepton Beauchamp for poor boys to be educated (this is on a plaque within St Michael's Church) - I need to know when this was and anything at all about Thomas Rich eg was he related to Eliza who is remembered on a plaque also in St Michaels's church, Shepton Beauchamp?  My connection is Mary and Charles Rich who were buried at that church at the end of 19th C.  I am trying to find any connection there may have been or whether it is all just coincidence!  Can anyone help please?  Little Mac
