Family History Beginners Board / Re: Denyer Family Hove Sussex

I do have information that the Denyers resided at Wish Cottage Hove until around 1927.

That information is found in this caption
http://regencysociety-jamesgray.com/volume16/source/jg_16_061.html
Images 57 to 62 of that collection all mention Wish House: the people shown may be Denyers!

gwalkden, these are the same photos you thought were your family members.

Hi Judy

If the family were C of E and remained in the area then they may appear in the online parish registers http://cityark.medway.gov.uk/

There is also now a lot of later dater at http://www.freebmd.org.uk where you can search on maiden name of mother to determine any likely children.

Full names of the MEIKLE girls might be useful

Casalguidi :)

Thank you Casalguidi,  the FreeBMD is where I got my information about the births of two known daughters.

I am looking for descendants of Phyllis B. COOK (nee MEIKLE)
Phyllis was born  in 1915 Dec. Qtr. Medway Kent England and was the daughter of John Boyd Meikle b. 1890 and Nellie Featherstone.
Phyllis married Charles B. Cook in 1937 in Medway Kent.

I know the Meikle family were living at  2 New Street in Chatham Kent in April 1923.

Any help locating family members would be very much appreciated.

Thank you

I’m wondering if there’s a member of the forum who lives near or visits the Chatham Cemetery occasionally?   If so, I would really appreciate a photograph of headstone of a first cousin, twice removed.  I offer the following information.

John Boyd MEIKLE
Burial in Chatham Cemetery,  Maidstone Road Extra
Area A,   Section J,  Grave no 290.
Died  12 April 1923  (buried 18th April 1923)
Age 32   (b. 1891)

(son of John Boyd Meikle and Ada Elizabeth Fane, wife was Nellie and was a Flying Officer in the RAF)

Lived at 2 New Street, Chatham at the time of his death.

Thank you

Hello Julian

We are very pleased to make contact with you.  You and my husband would be third cousins.   I have contacted you by PM with our e-mail address.   We hope to hear from you soon.

Well, thats settled then - George's wife really was Mary Kebell KILVINGTON!

Thank you so much for this look up - it should satisfy my long lost cousin who keeps looking for a Mary who married George!

Cheers

Jocelyn

Jocelyn,  I'm sure you have already found the following marriage.
1846 Sept. Qtr Romford  Vol. 12 Pg. 335
Mary Kebell Kilvington to George Reynolds

I recently found the following marriage *
2 June 1823 in Christ Church Southwark  by licence
Mary Kebell KNOTT to Henry KILVINGTON
one of the witnesses is a Susannah Knott

(Mary is actually indexed as Mary Kebett Knott)
