Hertfordshire Lookup Requests / Watford street directory/ electoral roll 1910-1920
« on: Wednesday 01 December 21 15:35 GMT (UK)  »
In the 1911 census Garfield House, King Street was between nos.7 and 10.  10 was the New Inn.  I would like to know who lived there in 1916 and where the house was located (with respect to the side roads and other landmarks.)
The buildings seem to have been renumbered at some point since 1911.
Thank you.

Thank you Allan.
It seems to be the one off St James Street.

Thanks Rosie.  Historical Directories is an excellent resource, but does not give the coverage that I want.

I would like to identify who was living at 14 Hardy Street, Liverpool in 1917.  Does anyone have access to a street directory or electoral register, please?
Thank you.

Buckinghamshire Lookup Requests / Re: 1851 Census GARRETT

Many thanks Pegasus.
Since family history research is a continuous occupation it is never too late to receive information.
Although I have searched some similar publications I had not seen this one.  I have only got the PEGG line back to 1736, so this takes me back another 4 generations.
I have the NEWELL line back to about 1510, with sone earlier references.  Unfortunately the present descendants of John William GARRETT-PEGGE do not know anything about the family records referred to in the article.  These would be useful to fill in the gaps.

Thank you again for thinking of me.

Regards,
Martin.

Dawn,

Please accept my apologies.  Although I have been looking out for a reply I did not see it until today, when I had notification of the topic being moved.

Thank you very much for the information, which is indeed helpful

Regards.
Martin.

Wow, what a speedy response!  Thank you, Cat.

These are certainly the right people, but I would still like the full PR entry.  I've not been able to establish who Elizabeth's parents were (though speculate they were William Garrett and Mary Reading of Well Farm, Dagnell in the parish of Edlesborough and thus her sisters were Sophia, Ruth and Maria, all born at Dagnall), so any clues may be helpful.  I'd found Elizabeth in 1851 and 1861 census only (she died in 1870) and these show her birthplace only as Bucks and England respectively.  There were also Garretts of the same family as William living at Hudnall in the parish of Edlesborough.  Plenty of scope for jumpng to the wrong conclusion!

Looking for full register entry for a marriage found in IGI - William SELLS and Elizabeth GARRETT, 03 Aug 1835 at All Souls, Saint Marylebone.
I particularly want to know the parish of residence of each party.
Thank you.

Northamptonshire / Re: HEMMINGS Family - Northampton
« on: Saturday 19 July 08 14:09 BST (UK)  »
George THOMPSON married Ann HEMMINGS 18 Oct 1779 at Brackley.  Witnesses were James WALTER and Nathaniel BLENCOWE.  Ann lived in the parish of Brackley at that time.  An Ann THOMPSON was buried 13 Aug 1810 at Brackley.

Unfortunately that is all I know about HEMMINGS. If you are able to add anything I would be delighted to hear from you.  In any event you may like to file the data in case it fits in as your research progresses.
