Hello John,

Wow, what can I say, but a huge thank you for taking the time to research this one so thoroughly  :) Very kind of you.

Think the certificate is the way to go, have to add it to my list of ones to get.

Thanks again  :)

Thanks for that.  Yes, getting the certificate is certainly an idea.

Can only find 1 birth for a George Samuel Drawbridge, yet 3 marriages!

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Eleanor Howlett married George Samuel Drawbridge q2 1899, Sevenoaks, Kent.

Therefore I think you can discount the one from your post above.

JJ

Thanks JJ, thats disapponting as I thought I was on to something (finally!)  Thanks for looking.

Hello Keyboard86,

Thanks for that.  Thats interesting.  I've just had a quick look on the 1911 Census (don't have full access) and there's an Eleanor Drawbridge.  Might have to investigate this further.  But many thanks for your help  :)

Hello,

Am rediscovering my tree (again!) after a break :)  Thought I'd try and investigate the 'dead ends' that I was stuck on the last time around but have drawn a blank already!

Could anyone shed any light on
Georgina Eleanor (or Ellen) Mason on the 1891 census?  b1866 in Felmersham.

I have her in '71 at home and '81 (I think in Surrey as a domestic servant as Ellen Mason) but drawing a blank after this.  She could have married I suppose.  I did find 2 possible marriages on Free BMD but searching on married names for the 1901 census also draws a blank.

(Marriages Dec 1893  W. Bromich and Marriages Sep 1895 Pancras - Georgina Ellen Mason)

Just wondered what happened to her, as her and her siblings seemed to have moved around quite a bit.

Thought I might be missing something really obvious and I remember how helpful you all are on here :)

Hi both - thanks for your replies.

I did see that possible marriage (when searching for George juniors marriage), so will investigate further.

Thanks for the link to the archive centre- I'll have a search.

Cumberland / Cumbria Police officer records - George Forsyth
« on: Sunday 13 January 13 12:54 GMT (UK)  »
Hello and happy new year!

I'm rediscovering my family tree after taking a year or so out.

I've recently found my my g-g aunts death certificate (she died in 1924 in Penrith) and her husband George Forsyth is listed as Inspector of Police.  I'd like to know what happened to him after her death as I've recently visited her grave and he's not on the headstone, so can only assume he remarried/moved away.  (Found them on the 1911 census living in Keswick with 2 children - Lily (7) and George (4).  George senior was a police sergeant then, so has progressed to inspector by 1924).

Does anyone know how I would go about tracing him through police records - are there any records for policemen online?

Thanks :D

Sorry, amended my post as should have been 1851 not 1841 when I double checked my tree.

Thanks for that info I'll have a look.

Yes I wondered the same.  Seem to remember it was transcribed as MaGill on the 1851 Census when they were living in Cumbria
