:DHi Jim - I don't know if Esther was ever a Buckingham - I did send for theMarriage cert since I was sure it would reveal Thomas as her husband but of course that was not the case - so there is no sure way to know what Esther's name was before she appears with Thomas. But I do appreciate your efforts on my behalf. Thanks.
Have a Great day

:) Yes Jim I had thought of that. I do know that she was 10 years older than him.The 1851 of Bristol Glos gives her as 38 and Thomas died in 1850 age 28. Only one child - David, is on the 1851 yet the death notice mentions her and 2 children. Thomas was crushed to death between 2 boilers in an accident at work. I have tried to get a Coroners enquiry but apparently they have been destroyed in a fire. I have'nt found a proper Obit just a little 1/2" blurb in the Bristol paper. There would be no Cemetery records as I have no doubt it would be a paupers grave.
Thanks for the input
Have a great day

To Jim and Tricia who answered my Hobbs queries - Thank you Thank you- I had found some of them on the 1901 and I had checked the Marriages - and I have Davids Marriage cert and his fathers death date. What I am really after is the marriage of Esther to Thomas Hobbs about 1845-7. I have checked the BMDs and not found them. Was it compulsary to r egister the marriage by 1845?. I have sent for the BC of all the David Hobbs on BMDs for 5 years and none were mine and the 2 Williams I found were also not mine so I am wondering if it was too costly to register the births.Esther was a widow in 1850.
I really do appreciate the kindness of you all
Thank you so much

Hi- William  Henry Hobbs born Bristol 1850-married Jane L Walker 1878 had 4 children --Esther, Arthur, David & Leah, died 1901 in Kings Norton. William had a Brother David also born Bristol also moved to Kings Norton who was my Grandmothers Father. I have searched with no luck for a Birth Cert for William - I need to know his Mothers maiden name. Her Christan name was Esther. Anyone out there searching this Hobbs line??? I would appreciate if I could hear from someone . Thanks

Warwickshire / Birmingham - THOMAS Family

Hi - my husband is looking to find some of his relatives in the Birmingham area - the last known was Ivy & Arthur Thomas living at Moodycroft Road in the Lea Hall areas way back in the 1950's. They had a son Donald and a daughter June - perhaps someone could check the Telephone directory - we have tried but they don't give addresses and there are a lot of Donald Thomas.  Thank you for your help
