Hi, thanks so much for taking the time to reply.

I've found out lots more about my family and know now that both parents had died by 1901.

As your family were in Cromwell St in 1901, would you happen to have a photograph of the street at that time? I would love to see the place. I've visited there and seen pics of neighbouring streets but never Cromwell Street.

Thanks once again.

Thanks again people

Yes, Martha married Trevor Parry you're spot on there.  Now we know who Richard married I can look for them in 1901 but its such a mystery where the family are in 1911.

The 1911 site does say that some pages are water damaged / illegible and are not available online so I am only assume that this might be the case for this family.  I'll get on to my friend and suggest she orders birth certs to find out more.

Cheers again all, much appreciated xxx

Yes, that is the marriage.  Not yet sure of the name of the Martha's mother until birth cert comes so not sure how now to proceed.

It does seem that they are absent or possibly using another name. Wonder if theirs was a missing census return?

Hi all and thanks for your replies - at least its not only me who cant find them!

I have looked for Richard in 1901 but cant be sure i've found him - he was married in 1903 so wouldnt have been with a wife and family in that census.

Think my friend might have to buy a birth cert to be sure on this one and in the meantime keep trying to locate by using dad's name or variants on Martha Ann

Thanks so much

The Common Room / 1911 census help
« on: Friday 08 October 10 19:19 BST (UK)  »
Hi all

I'm helping a friend out with her ancestry and am stumped when trying to use the 1911 census  :o.

I'm borrowing her "find my past" subscription but have hit a brick wall trying to find her grandmother.  How hard can it be to find Martha Ann Keefe born in Swansea in 1905? I've located her birth there and tried searching variants and all counties but can find nothing.  The only other info I have is that her dad's name was Richard and she had two brothers believed to be named richard and patrick.

all help welcomed!

Deb

Thank you so much Carolyn, it is so much appreciated.

These people are my great, great, great grandparents I never ever thought that a photograph would survive of them - they were born c 1844 and this photo has been estimated to have been taken around 1870.

Thanks once again, you're a star

Deb
