Sussex Lookup Requests / West Sussex Catholic Registers - Baptisms
« on: Tuesday 20 January 09 15:18 GMT (UK)  »
Can you see whether a James Hone is listed, his birth is unknown but at a guess would have been around 1780.  He went onto marry Charlotte Burfield in Arundel in 1802.  Thanks.

Hi Nigel, there is a William Birch bap 22 May 1814 to a Susan Birch in Arundel, father not given.  This is from the Arundel parish registers.

Henrietta.

Great thanks, I am unfortunately based some distance from Chichester, so may put a request into WSRO to do a search for me - thanks so much for the help.

Sussex Lookup Requests / Arundel Workhouse Records

Does anyone know where I should go to find entry records of inmates to Arundel Workhouse?  A Frances and George Hone are listed as children being transferred there on the 1861 census with a note in the margin 'deserted in Marylebone'.  They were aged 11 and 12.  Frances was born in Arundel, George in London.  I just wonder if any additional records would exist?

Thanks!

Hi, am looking for the baptism of a James Hone (not known where born) but he married Charlotte Burfield in 1802 in Arundel and the first two of their children (Anne 1803 and William 1805) were baptised catholics.  I still search for his birthplace but thought I may catch him this way by checking this register.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I'm trying to find the burial of a James HONE in St Pancras parish sometime betwee 1831 and 1851.  James birth was @ 1780.

If anyone out there could help that would be great!

Jan,

Thanks for going to the trouble of searing for Stone rather than Hone - it's take me back one more step!

Thanks again,

 :D

James' occupation was servant on his children's baptisms, and Edmund Hone was still alive by 1841 - thank you for finding this entry I do think it is the right family!
