Should also have added that the first name of Alice's father was different on the Parish register to that transcribed on the beta site. Could be some glitches that need ironing out - or just straight forward transcriber error - approach with caution!

Thanks Mo, Richard was the name I was hoping for!  though if it's the Henry I'm looking for he wasn't a widower - his first wife was alive elsewhere in Lancashire, but the info you have provided means that I can be more confident of a result if I order the certificate. I'm still open to any other in-put that anyone has to add though.

Can anyone help with information about the mrriage of Henry Carrington to Alice Williams, Free BMD shows that it took place in the March Quarter of 1882 at Barton upon Irwell. Also that a Henry Carrington died, aged 30 in the Sept. quarter of 1882 at Barton. ( The same person?). Lancashire BMD states that the marriage was at Christ Church, Patricroft. I'm specifically looking for Henry's place of birth, occupation and father's name and occupation. That way I will either have closure on problem I'm trying to solve or can eliminate him from my search. Anyone up for the challenge?

I think I have your man, George Caunce, 1787, married Ann Woods (I've got date as 27 Feb. 1805, I've 7 of their children, but not the one you mention, although I've a gap between 1816 and 1821, so he could fit in there. I've George's Father as John, who married Elizabeth Forshaw in 1773. If you think it's worth exchanging info, and that we have a match I can take you back another 7 generations. Contact me on (*):)

Flintshire Lookup Requests / parish record look-up for John Ardern born in Hanmer

Please can anyone help with either a parish record look-up or any other info. on John Ardern, and any other siblings, John was born in Hanmer about 1826. I think that his father was James Arden and mother was Mary ( I've found them on the 1841, living at "The Hole" along with his sister Ann, Ann is not on the 1851) John married Fanny Street, and their daughter, Fanny Marie, married Thomas Moulton (born 1863), One of Thomas's older brothers, John, born 1851, married Mary Martha Harthern, my gt. grandmother's sister, and, as Mary Martha's father, Thomas Harthern, was born 1838 at Shavington, I can't help wondering if the Harthern's and the Ardern's are one and the same, so I'm searching for a link, anybody out there with any suggestions as to the best way to tackle this one?

Look-up please for Ardern's in Hanmer, I've a John Ardern, son of James and Mary, born about 1826, are there any other Arderns listed?, by 1881 John's name has been written as Harthern, and his daughter Fanny Marie has married into the same family (Moultons) as my Mary Martha Hardern. I'd dearly like to link James Ardern, born about 1794 to my John Harthern, born 1812, could they be related?
