Hi

Sutton cum duckmanton  is an area of land from Calow to Duckmanton which takes in sutton scarsdale Hall.  I have an old map which shows the area clearly let me know if you would like a copy

Jackie  :-))

May have some good news

still making assumptions but it's beginning to fit.

I read your other postings and noticed sunflower had listed Eliz? Bacon 20 and Mary Bacon 15

I believe I have these two within my research,

They are (if I'm right) the daughters of Samuel Bacon and Betty Cantrell,

Betty is the daughter of Joseph Cantrell and Hannah Tagg,  her sister is Anne Cantrell who could be the mother of your Mary.

I found an entry on IGI for Mary 's bapt 26 oct 1880 sutton cum duckmanton mother Anne  which would fit, please let me know if you have made any progress Mike

hi

sorry for the delay, I've not passed this way for ages, I've checked out your Mary  married to William, and cannot find any definite solution, it's all if's and buts  however if I get to the records office in the near future I see if I can find any extra details.

I did notice 1851 census now available online, looks like I might invest my hard earnt shilling in a bit more research.

Hi

Just tried 1837, it accepted my £5 but for some reason only ever showed me the same page for every viewing I tried to make.  >:(

No

I don't have access to it, but I think Derby records only go to 1912 ( not sure on that one )

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / Cantrell Marriage

Hi Everybody

Requesting assistance which perhaps someone may be able to sort out for me.

I'm looking for a marriage in Derby area of

Frank Cantrell and Isabella Ann ?  between 1912 and 1914

Frank was a butcher who originated in Chesterfield.

I'm in need of the missing surname, date, witnesses or fathers name anything really to help get over the hurdle.

Thanks to any one who attempts this ,

Hi

No joy really, father William died 1872, mother Matilda (Ford) Heron ran the dairy business with sister Jane Ford.  I did have a theory that the eldest son had the business and the youngest may have gone to sea, but most of it is pie in the sky, fisher wives tales and no hard facts. One guy told me they had a milk round and an old bedford Van but no mention of wives and kids. Next time I'm up that way I see what can be found .

Thanks Mike
