Roli

Just as the definition of an image is dependent on resolution (dots per inch or dpi), the definition of graphics tablets (lines per inch or lpi) determine the quality achieved.

The cheaper tablets have a lpi of around 1000.  The newer Wacom tablets are above 5000 lpi, hence the high cost.

Hi MarieC

Can you suggest under what headings to look?  The 'browse overseas records'   is not name searchable.

Just found this thread.

Having checked my tree permissions, they seem to be OK but I don't know whether they had been changed and rectified since my last visit.

Some months ago, I uploaded my full tree gedcom - over 3k individuals - but, after just a few days, was forced to delete it.  Why?  Because of the stupid criteria used by GR for their hot matches.  I was inundated with emails informing me of a John Smith and other common names that matched people in my tree - all born someplace other than where mine were born.

John Smith born in Kidderminster is unlikely to be related to John Smith born in John o' Groats even if born in the same year! It would be so easy for GR to add 'place of birth' to their matching criteria.

This is the only gripe I have with GR, having otherwise found membership worthwhile.  I shall upload my tree again soon in order to attract more contacts, but I will delete after one week.

I selected the free Overseas Records 1761-1981 and loaded a random page.  Seems OK.

Dave

When I tried the '.' using my Firefox browser, I was informed that I had not got the required deja vu viewer installed - yet I had because I use it for Ancestry page views.  Nevertheless, I downloaded and installed it again (from familyrelatives) and have had no problems loading images.

Warwickshire / Re: HEMINGS Family - Southern Warwickshire, 1600-1750

I know nothing of John & Mary's history.  They had at least 3 children, Joseph (1780), John (1782) and Thomas (1785) Banbury Oxon

John & Lydia had at least 3 children, Elizabeth (1816), James (1817) and Richard (1820) Radford Semele Warks

My research is through Richard who married Ann Barnacle.
