Hi Kylie,

I only have an index to the Tithes which gives the name, townland, Parish and year. I'm not sure if there would be other info to be had. Maybe someone else out there may know.

I just came across an Owen Haran of Fermanagh who was enlisted in the R.I.C. in 1864 at age 22. Considering the name appears to be uncommon in Fermanagh, maybe this Owen was a relation. There is no other info only that he emigrated and the below...

Found a Samuel Atwill in the Tithes listed in Derrastatin in Galloon Parish. Year was 1834. Samuel Atwell is also listed in the Griffiths Valuation (townland spelled Derrysteaton but will only be a variant spelling of same as with name spellings). There is a William listed too under the same townland but as he is also in the Tithes that would be too early to be Samuel's son so possibly a brother or cousin of Samuel.

Hi Kylie,

Records pre-1838 are probably hard to come by and if your ancestors were C of I you'll have a better chance. I just had a look through the Tithes (1825-1835) and found one Owen Haran listed in the townland of Drumkeeran, in Drumkeeran Parish. Might be Hugh's father.
