Hello scotmum,

Is there a place I can find the newspaper article you mentioned?
Thank you

His wife  Amelia, died 28th October 1928 as recorded in the Irish Weekly and Ulster Examiner newspaper at the time.

And, possibly his mother Maria, the same newspaper notes the death of a Maria, relict of a John Carroll, at 18 Seaforde Street on February 1st 1939.

Thank you Elwyn

Births, deaths and marriages in NI from 1.1.1922 onwards are not on irishgenealogy or the other sites with Irish records. Only GRONI has them.

Yes, I was able to locate those records.

Thank you Kitaglassan - appreciate the lookup

You're very welcome  :)

Have you the 1901 and 1911 censuses for William in Belfast?

Thank you Elwin.

Haven’t seen Groni - had to step back for an awhile with my father’s health and passing, so just getting back to searching. William was his uncle who he hadn’t seen since he left Ireland as a child.

Appreciate your help.

Thank you Kiltaglassen for the route. Her father worked on the section in Creeslough.

Her father was a carpenter with the Burtonport railroad.

Here's the route of the Lough Swilly Railway from Letterkenny to Burtonport attached.
