Thank you Kiltaglassen for the route. Her father worked on the section in Creeslough.

Her father was a carpenter with the Burtonport railroad.

Here's the route of the Lough Swilly Railway from Letterkenny to Burtonport attached.

Hello,

I am searching for the baptism record for my grandmother Nora Walsh. She was born 2 Aug 1902, Shamrock Cottages, Dublin. Father: John Walsh. Mother: Mary Lardner. By 1904, the family was living in Belfast. I have her birth certificate but need help to find a baptism record.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Kathleen

Thanks - I am not sure, don't have any information other than what has been gathered through my GGF Stephen, brother to Michael. The family used the traditional naming patterns and did re-use names if a child died. The Christina Walsh seems like a match given the address and baptism at St. Andrews, Westland Row - that being the church for the marriages and baptisms for the family.

I appreciate your efforts.

May be a red herring but-

Christina Walsh born 1884, 24 Sir Johns Quay, parents Michael Walsh & Margaret McCann-

It would seem that the family was involved in the shipbuilding industry.

Information I have from Glasnevin is:

1852 – sister Margaret Scallan
      address at time of death: Sir John Quay

1860 – father George Walsh
      occupation: Pilot
      1842 (death of wife Elizabeth): Sir Johns Quay
     1860 - address at time of death: 2 Hanover Quay

1875 – brother Stephen Walsh
      occupation: shipbuilder
      address at time of death: 123 Sir Johns Rogersons Quay
      Informant: Michael who lived at the Quay

1877 – sister Ellen Richardson
   address at time of death: 50 South King Street

Thank you again.

Yes, I am trying to go forward - don't really think I can go backwards from his father George.

Sorry to be confusing.

Dublin / Michael Walsh abt 1833
« on: Tuesday 29 November 16 19:02 GMT (UK)  »
Michael is son of George Walsh 1798-1860 and Elizabeth McCabe 1798-1842. I found baptism at St. Andrews, 27 Oct 1833 but not finding much else.

The siblings I have found are
Stephen Walsh (Mary Anne Murphy) 1819–1875;
Margaret Mary Walsh (Michael Scallan) 1825–1852;
Elizabeth Walsh (Stephen Bond) 1830–1884;
Ellen Walsh (Thomas Richardson) 1836–1877.

He appears to be the person making burial arrangements for his family at Glasnevin Cemetery.

Any help greatly appreciated.
