Oh this looks great Carole, as my husbands grandfather had ROSS as one of his middle names, so this would explain it.  Will have to check it out.  Thanks so much for finding this one.  Also the year of marriage ties in with his dob.
Am off to see what else I can find.  Thank you, thank you.  I knew someone out there would find something else that I hadn't thought of.

Thanks so much for getting back so quickly.  Yes, he did marry in England on 28 Aug 1853, St Lawrence, Winchester, Hampshire to Eliza Tatner.  This info I got from Family Search.  Also his father is listed as John Henry EDWARDS but no occupation given.  I might have to order the marriage certificate.

I think this must be his birth details on IGI too.

I was hoping someone might be connected??  Long shot.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.  I will now be able to put parents in for Isabella.  If you find out when she died, would like to know, also her husband Donald.
I am connected through their daughter Hughina's husband, William CAMPBELL.  He was my 2nd cousin twice removed!!

According to the 1861 and 1871 English Census I have just discovered that my husbands Gt Gt Grandfather John Henry EDWARDS was born in Barbados, West Indies abt 1822. 
I would love to find out what his family was doing over there, and if there were any siblings?  Can anyone help me please.

I am interested to know more about your Isabella Paterson, as I have an Isabella Paterson in my family tree.  She was born in 1830 in Farr, Sutherland.  Married Donald Munro in 1855 in Durness, and went on to have 9 children.  I do not have parents for Isabella, so am wondering if its the same one.

Afraid I am not having any luck.  Only one Gunn family died in Laid, here it is.
In loving memory of Donald GUNN died at Laid Durness 17th Jan 1927 aged 78. His wife Johan MORRISON died 24th Feb 1934 aged 74. Their sons Neil died Mar 1908 aged 23. Hugh Cpl Scots Guards killed 1st Jan 1915 aged 28. Jessan LCpl Cameron Hghr missing July 1917 aged 21. James died Decr 1923 aged 21. Also Hugh GUNN died May 1934 aged 87. Brother of Donald GUNN. Also the last of the family of Johan and Donald, sons Hugh, Murdo and Malcolm and daughters Mary and Isabel

Yes, there are quite a few GUNNS in the Durness Cemetaries.  Please give me some more details and I will see what I can find for you.
